Same here and I believe I discussed it on this board. Quite certain of that. But I don't regret it in the least and I'm still not a fan. But I won't criticize those that make informed investment decisions that include alternative currencies.I could have bought 100 bitcoins for next to nothing when it was first released. I passed. I kick myself over it.
You see the Senate's "bailout" plan? Oof. I don't know why I expected better, but I did.I could have bought 100 bitcoins for next to nothing when it was first released. I passed. I kick myself over it.
I like that strategy myself. Being a little bit older than you and having a ton in retirement plans already, not putting anymore in IRA's. But strategies are different for everyone.BTW, not gonna lie. I gave myself a bonus today and maxed out my Simple IRA contribution for the year. Betting on this as the bottom or close to it.

Agreed and well said. Not for everyone, but I think it's worth it for me. Probably going to fund 2019 and 2020 Roth IRAs as well.I like that strategy myself. They are woefully unprepared and underestimating their response.Yeah... Somehow I'm not surprised.
Again, great strategy. Love Roth's. Doesn't make much sense for me nowadays (in my view) to put anymore in though. I'm into tax free income investments and as you know (so really speaking to others if they don't know) Roth's are tax free returns but one must keep their principal locked up for 5 years or until 59 1/2. I need more liquidity but and I prefer any new investments to generate income which I just reinvest. It also meets my objective of getting more diversified and balancing risk of the entire portfolio.Agreed and well said. Not for everyone, but I think it's worth it for me. Actually, may not be THAT bad the more you read. The headline "stimulus" check is a fail, but there are some good things in there.Yeah... Somehow I'm not surprised.

"I just got off the phone with former Bush NEC Director Larry Lindsey. He says everyone is missing the “big bazooka” in the Senate bill- massive payroll relief for small businesses in section 1105. He says it could impact up to 80 MILLION American jobs."I'll have to dig into it. I've had problems getting details.
thats a solid move IMO.BTW, not gonna lie. I gave myself a bonus today and maxed out my Simple IRA contribution for the year. Betting on this as the bottom or close to it.
Feeling pretty good about my timing. Obviously A LOT of volatility left, but the timing really worked out for me, based on what I think. Simple IRA was sent in Thursday, didn't buy mutual fund shares until yesterday at the close. Maxed out 2019 and 2020 Roth with some targeted stocks on Friday, so far all have had 3 decent to great days. Knock on wood.BTW, not gonna lie. You are going to be 59 in what, 25 years? You did fine is my opinion but who cares about my thoughts.Feeling pretty good about my timing. I'm sure I'll jinx myself, but I'm all in on retirement for 2020. Might look at non retirement buys this or next week. Probably go targeted again. At least I have some free time. Anybody else got any thoughts.
Whether Pelosi says it or not, it will probably become the standard soon.Pelosi is talking about a US electronic currency. It’s only a matter of time before it becomes the standard.

lol. You always will be my #1 fan. Nice to get a win reminded on here, tho going back through the thread I did puss out on any non retirement investments. What a cuck. Here ya go coop.
well, i sure hope your timing was good. i bought heavily the week around March 23rd, both retirement and non-retirement accounts. So far, so good, especially Shopify and Fastly (FSLY has tripled since then, although pulling back earlier today). For humanitarian and economic reasons, i hope there is not a Second Shutdown or Second Wave.lol. You always will be my #1 fan. Similar. Shopify and others have done great. I've had 6 stocks at all time highs in the last week or so. I'm above where I was before the crash. Great market recovery so far but I expect another downturn.well, i sure hope your timing was good. i bought heavily the week around March 23rd, both retirement and non-retirement accounts. During that time Shopify went from 332 to 796, not bad. Many tech stocks (and others) have had very good runs.If you guys would have bought BTC at those time you would be up ~50%

Sounds like we found ourselves an OT Board Hedge Fund Manager.i bought my first lot of Shopify at 75. what do they say: even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then.
it's nice to look at, but it's just on paper until it's sold. just hope the market stays positive. long-term outlook. what concerns me greatly is the increased risk of inflation with all of the stimulus. And somewhere, sometime, somehow, taxes will go up to try to balance things out.Tripling ain't bad.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
nah. i lean heavily on the research done by The Motley Fool. i wish i was that smart.Sounds like we found ourselves an OT Board Hedge Fund Manager.
