Pitching is a talent, it isn't a learned skill. There is really no way to teach someone to be a good pitcher. A pitcher can work on his arm strength and can learn some new pitches but someone who isn't born a pitcher isn't ever going to be a good pitcher.
Perhaps.
But you can sure as hell screw up a decent pitcher by changing his mechanics in an attempt to make him "better".

Very true. Like I said, conditioning and maybe introducing a new grip on the ball to try and get some different movement on the ball are about the only things a pitching coach can help with.

Where are the folks who earlier this season lectured us on the fact that we were all idiots who didn’t understand baseball and that this team was really better than they had looked?

As the season has progressed, it seems they are actually worse than they looked, which is a remarkable feat.
Remarkable, yes. But baseball is a marathon, and I'm inclined to be patient through weekend 5 of SEC play.

Failure to build on 3 consecutive CWS FINALS and back-to-back CWS CHAMPIONSHIPS is a huge failure cloud hanging over our athletic department!
RT himself stated numerous times that it's hard to get to Omaha.

Getting to Omaha every year is not realistic, but me and many other posters/readers think it reasonable to have expected we would have been back at least twice since 2012.

Again, the Holbrook hire looked great on paper - although you can argue in retrospect that given our position in the SEC and in the college baseball world in general, perhaps it would have been better to have hired as coach-in-waiting someone with previous head coaching experience - even at a mid-major or D-II.

You can argue about the Kingston hire for sure.

Yes, this season has been a disappointment to say the least, but without marked improvement next year, I think we can legitimately shoot arrows,

I will say I'm still proud of what we accomplished with Tanner as coach and our back to back baseball national titles but am extremely disappointed with the direction the program has gone since Tanner retired from coaching/became AD.

We've had some talented teams since 2012, but coaching issues and a lack of team chemistry ultimately doomed us.
