He sought a cooler climate in hopes if helps him sweat less through his three piece suit. That guy can pit stain a good oxford like no one else, geez. Joke is on Buzz though, arenas are not actually colder up North.

Going to miss Buzz's press conferences, but not playing on TV after his Aggies team when they take 40 minutes to play the final 2 minutes.

from a competitive standpoint... he still has the "name" of the ACC conference, but the conference is so much weaker, that he should be able to get plenty of wins & a higher seed for the NCAAT.
Did you just get rescued from a deserted island?

Maryland left the ACC over a decade ago.

These coaches and taking lateral moves are confusing. Didn't make a lot of sense that Willard left for Nova. But good riddance Buzz

There must be significant pressure coming to him from behind the scenes. I can’t think of any other reason.

I think this is an upgrade for Maryland. Buzz has a better coaching record than Willard. I didn't see the lovefest for Willard.
No. Kevin Willard was making Maryland better. He wanted Final 4s. He wanted championships. That's why he went to Villanova.

Buzz doesn't have that in him. Hes happy making sweet 16, and that's all he'll ever try for. He's not going to go after better players. He's not going to try for NIL. He'll keep hopping around so he can always be building, but never exceeding.

I always like Buzz. Can't really see the lateral move I know A&M has money.

Probably a fairly large buyout also. I think he had 3 years left on his contract.

The Bad thing about the coaching changes these days is the portal timing.
You need to get a coach in the next week or so or you will just miss out on next years team.
I think Maryland is making a million dollars on this deal in a way. They get $2million from Villinova for Willard’s buyout and Buzz’s buyout just dropped to $1million at A&M

Glad this TRASH is out of the SEC. He's a phony.

Hilarious aspect to this move--Maryland's AD left to be the AD at SMU. So they just hired Buzz Williams without an Athletic Director. LOL

Buzz and Terps are a perfect marriage.

Trev Alberts is the A&M AD right? If so...does he look at guys he knows like the always overrated Fred Hoiberg? Or does he actually conduct a search and get a guy who can coach?
Buzz was definitelywas NOT trash. He is a really great basketball coach. Actuallyn he is who I wanted to replace Cal. He is a ton 10 coach in the country. We would have been bless tohave Williams.

That would be so awesome. I'd love to see him stick it up the Horns arses from aTm. Epic.
I think Beard will wait until Barnes retires at Tennessee. I believe he has a deal as coach in waiting in Knoxville. I wish ike heck he would go. to aTm. He is a top 10 coach.

Agreed. He’s really, really good. I love that the Hoosiers wouldn’t touch him too. Dumbasses. They were desperate and hired Devries. He’s fine, but that’s about it. Could’ve had McCollum too but went total missionary on their hire. I admittedly love guys like him. Hell, I was a Clyde fan until his demons got him. I love that Beard and Kiffin are in Oxford together, but I’d honestly like to see both somewhere they could stick it up Texas and USCs nose.

I don't blame Buzz for leaving A&M for Maryland. From what the previous coach said, Maryland is lacking in terms of how focused the administration is when it comes to their basketball program, but he may feel it's better to coach against a conference that isn't loaded with coaching talent over a program that devotes a lot of money toward their basketball program.

Maryland likes sweaty coaches
Holy crap do you remember a few years ago when Virginia Tech had a T-shirt night against UNC and Buzz sweated through his three piece suit so much he changed into one of the T-shirts at halftime?

That’s the fit. You nailed it. He sweats like Gary Williams.
