If BY were to lose two games, then their conference could three teams in the playoffs if BY drops to 3rd place....every bubble team in other 2A conferences are hoping the Mid State only gets their 2 automatic bids, and this probably happens if BY stays second, but there is still a chance gets a third team in, though Carrboro's current adjusted maxpreps ranking from Oct. 7 has them in the mix for an at-large wild card spot if they finish 3rd...from the looks of things in the rankings, it appears that Cummings & Graham's only playoff chances are to finish 2nd in the conference and get an auto bid

BY will be very confident when they play Reidsville, because according to their fans their senior class beat Reidsville senior class in middle school. They’re star RB from that middle school team Is now a star player at Roxboro.

Well.... Losing to Cummings isn't very good. Even worse it was 13 0. Reidsville BY could be aweful
I figured it would be tough. Cummings has a really tough schedule. They need to find a way to tone it down. The only game they should have won is Winston Salem prep
Don't forget that Cummings reached the second round of the playoffs last season with a young team. The Cavs played a tough schedule until the Bartlett Yancey game. Opponents, not counting Bartlett Yancey, are now a combined 39-8.

Yeah ... the fact that Bartlett Yancey beat NC Prep doesn't fit into my equation.
I remember Cummings beat St Pauls. I was shocked by that after comparing the two last year. Then Cummings showed up at North Davidson and it was 35-0 after the first half.
I looked at Cummings’ schedule this year, and you are absolutely correct, they played a tough non-conference schedule. But, if you lose to W-S Prep, you likely have no business in the playoffs, even with a second place finish in the conference.
St. Pauls either crapped the bed that night last year, or they weren’t any good either.
But again, 2AA East was just that weak last year.

Prep has a couple of really good players. One I understand is being heavily recruited by some big time schools.
Oh, I have no doubt... It’s Winston-Salem Prep. Best group of athletes of any 200 student school. Wonder how that happens?
Not defending this school, but football at Prep is not basketball. And I certainly don’t want to have this thread turn into a 1 A board bashing WS Prep. And not implying you were bashing.
BY deserves all the publicity they can get!
More than likely 2aa east will be weak this year. You can even say weaker. Last year a lot thought North would make it interesting vs Shelby, not sure 2aa east has anyone that you can even imagine doing that.
Having said that, Cummings has a chance to go to the 2nd round again.
St pauls is usually overrated though, they used to come to reidsville a few times with a good record and get blown out.
You are correct. Those two sports are completely different animals at that school.
I’ve often wondered what B-Y could be if they weren’t completely out in the sticks. I know that they have athletes. I also suspect that many of the best potential football players in that school don’t play.
I’ve got my eyes on Hertford County out of the east. I know we don’t know yet who will go 2A or 2AA... but they were 2AA last year. After what they did to Northeastern on Friday... that’s got me paying attention! Other than that, I see most of the bruisers in the east playing in small 2A
I know what you mean. The CCC is weak, bit gradually improving. Still, everyone leads with, “but you come from a weak conference”. It really puts an emphasis on getting some quality non conference opponents.
