Where was wilson? He should have predicted this yesterday
Dittman will say he did call it. He said that "There will be firings on Monday." But if there hadn't been he would have said: "They had a heart to heart and came to an agreement." You have to always say stuff that could be interpreted as you being correct. Lololol watching Dittman is like watching Mountain Monsters funniest show ever.

Not the coach I expected to see fired. Nor the one who needs to be.

Not that I loved the defense this year. But this seems weird unless he has one hell of a candidate lined up.
This is a confusing development. The team was short on talent on both sides, but the offense definitely had more star power than the defense. Raiola and Johnson are arguably the most talented we’ve had in those positions in at least a decade. Yet Butler lead the defense to a 23rd national ranking, while the offense finished 79th.

There must be more to the story, because it just doesn’t make sense otherwise.

Didn't he turn down Clemson to stay in the NFL?

To me that communicates he likes NFL better.
Ahh I hadn't heard that. If that's what he prefers that's fine. Even better we could have hired in for DC in 2022 for the 2023 season and gotten a lot of Wisconsin players to come here too.

Rob Dvoracek? He has a pretty good resume the last three years. This was undoubtedly his units least impressive year which I chalk up the DC. https://huskers.com/staff/rob-dvoracek
You are correct, but hear is my opinion I think butler didn’t listen to his assistants or overrode them. He’s the common denominator poor d line and linebacker player. Javin had a really good season in 24 this year he was out of position most of the time the defensive backs especially the last two games were at best lost. I believe butler was to much nfl mindset and refused to adjust and listen to his assistants

I’ve said from day one that the blame for poor performance lies with coordinators and not totally with the position coaches. They have to coach their guys the way their boss wants and have little input to schemes.

The main thing I didn't like about Butler was his playcalling... gave up too many third downs because of a poor coverage call. It is possible to get better though, especially after 1 season. I think this is a "saving his own ***" play by Rhule, even though it still makes his decision-making look poor because he shouldn't have been hired in the first place if he wasn't the right guy.

His scheme proved to not be effective to be in the Big 10. He can stop the pass but not the run. It’s never gonna work

His scheme couldn't stop the run OR the pass. Don't fool yourself, that pass defense ranking was a mirage because anytime an offense wanted to pass they found easy completions and big gains.
this is 100% correct

Texas Tech DC has the most expensive DL in the country courtesy of TTU alum oil money.

Hurts to say, but we cant buy a roster like he has to work with.

No Justin Wilcox but including actively employed coaches is crazy work too
