I think it’s gonna change the team, but we can’t lose all year and run our hopes on an injured guy like that. Build the team to be a killer from the first tip. Kentucky cannot sit back and follow the Calipari model and lose half the year for a shot at the end. That crap is over.

I’m really hoping to see some dominance early next season. No recruiting injured players get the best and win the ship. It’s time. No more skirting around it.

I’d like to stop recruiting these small guards. It’s a preference thing for me, I always feel like it’s hard to keep frail guards healthy in the SEC. I like the 6’3”, 6’4” point guards

Im going to say you very well could be on to something. We’re 2/2 with smaller guards getting injured. Barnes and others do football workouts in this league it’s ridiculous. That’s why Mark adjusted to it like MO for example. You’d think with Oweh and the rest we’d be built to bully. But we sacrificed offense to do it and they don’t play good D. I’m beginning to think this is some kind of nonsense issue and they’re gonna show up and show out here soon.

But take the Harrison’s for example. People didn’t like them but they were bulldog alphas. I’d take them today. I think because we were still close to the Wall and Knight era people just didn’t realize they were actually really good.

Great BYU and Dayton game, some great talent on both teams. Give me the Freshman L'etang for Dayton, he is a very talented 7 footer, that can pass.

Dayton is the best unranked to that I have seen this year, but probably not for long.

Lamont Butler wasn’t small. He was thick. Lowe on the other hand, is slightly built.
The Harrison twins don’t get the respect that they deserve. A final game and Final 4 in two years. If they could have just finished one of them, they would be legends.

that's crazy to think about with the twins, we used to be so elite so consistently

It sure was. Dayton is always dangerous but BYU weathered the storm of Dayton 3s in the 1st half, came back and won it. One of the best games I've seen so far this season.

Dayton was impressive, but BYU are deep, and talented, and Saunders took over that 2nd half, even with a great defensive game from Dayton. At times they had Dybantsa, rattled, more then I've seen this year. But he is so talented, he's going to have his big plays.

Knight and Fox were on the slight build side and they were pretty awesome as well.

BYU fans don’t seem to miss Pope at all.
Seems they upgraded their head coaching position.

Immediately going all in on NIL the moment Pope left town didn't hurt.
Pope wasn't exclusively to blame as elite transfers/recruits weren't going to BYU beforehand. Chandler was the highest rated commit in the program's history.

Getting a coach who has nba connections to an owner and related to the Mormon community is why nil for them skyrocketed.

The Harrisons were over rated as far as their pro potential. But they were damn fine college players and went to the FF both years.

Which seems impossible since I’ve read that no players ever played more than one year here because Cal pushed them out. 🤔

NIL hadn't been in long 2021, and it took a while for the rich donors to figure out that they could change there team. Ryan Smith had an article in the paper, and said he would not be out bid for a player that Young wants. Changes everything.

IDC, what Aaron did in that first tournament run is legendary. "This is the point where he always hits it!" The first 8 years of Cal had some ridiculously fun times (I say 8 because that 17 team could've won it all and watching Monk against UNC was awesome, screw the rooferee!)

Refresh my memory, but was Kieta a portal pickup for BYU? Watched about 8-10 minutes of the game, and he’s the dude that stood out for me! That guy takes it personal if you go inside on him!
