Created a new thread, so I could easily update and edit it at the top for any viewers so they don’t have to scroll through pages. A few updates from the previous one. It’s still early as just 5 top 25 players and 11 top 50 players have announced- should have much more movement in the next 30-45 days. We are still in contention of the players listed below. I have removed players who have taken visits and committed elsewhere. We are still in communication with several players not mentioned who may take a visit here:

COMMITS
#2: 5’10 PG Kate Harpring OV, UV
#48 6’5 F Noelle Bofia “Irene Guiamatia” OV

Targets:
#5: Olivia Vukosa OCT 26th OV set; UV; Final 7 with: finalists are Ohio State, South Carolina, LSU, Texas, and UCONN
#10: Trinity Jones OV & UV
#11: Addison Bjorn UV, trying to set OV
#15: Autumn Fleary OV & UV; Final 3 with UCLA and Duke. LSU has “moved on” per their site after claiming and tweeting they were in the lead the entire commitment. Commitment imminent.
#16 Olivia Jones: OV set, Miami and Carolina top 2.
#21: Jenica Lewis: OV 8/31; Final 5 with Iowa, TCU, Oregon, and Notre Dame
#26: Chamiah Francis UV, OCT 25th OV set. Final 7 for Chamiah Francis with Alabama, Dook, Miami, Ole Miss, FSU, and LSU.
#27: KK Pruitt UV (finalist)
#34: Jayda Porter: Finalist with OU, Oklahoma State, ND, Oregon, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and A&M
#35: Leelee Bell: OV, Final 5 with Nebraska, Louisville, OU, and Michigan.
#40Mimi Thiero: OV set for Aug/Sept, final 12
#41: Amaya Garcia UV (finalist)
#42: Emily McDonald OV
#61: Stella Lockhart: potential OV
#69: Jhai Johnson: new offer, stock-riser
#70: Aaliyah Spaight: Final 10, stock-riser and will go up at next rankings

Offered/visited/no-longer considering from previous list:
#1: Hall OV, committed to USC
#4: Oliviyah Edwards: finalist (finalist)
#12: Jacy Abii OV & UV (finalist)
#25: Brooklyn Haywood: AUG 23rd OV set

Some notes:
-Watch the player and where they are going. If they’ve taken an UV and OV visit here- odds are we are a finalist and major player in the recruitment.
-I believe our top targets at this time are Harping, Fleary, Jones, Jones, and Vukosa. I think Olivia Jones could pop when she visits.
-Jones & Abii played FIBA ball with Lanie. Rumors could be playing together in college.
-Autumn Fleary: played AAU with Nyla Brooks.
-Bjorn: Played US FIBA with Lanie
-Hall and Harpring: we’ve done everything we can to remain a top player for them in their recruitment’s. high on UNC. Harping, specifically, I don’t think NIL is going to be a major player in who she chooses.
-we *should* be landing one in the not so distant future that should kickoff the class.

Scholarships available for next year:

Exhausting eligibility:
-Nyla Harris
-Indya Nivar
-current open scholarship with Eliza not on campus and quiet on that front.

Possibly:
KMAC; should definitely get another year if her body will allow. If she does, is it here, etc.

Transfers:
The reality of WBB today. Standard transfers are typically 2-3 per year, not including COVID transfers. We’re a young team this year. Some potential logjams, players who haven’t played a lot the last couple of years could seek other opportunities.

-Syd could always go back off ship if needed. Walk-on ships are typically honored on a year to year based

My guess:
-2026: 4 HS signees
-transfer offseason additions: 3-4

Great Post Carolina 151. Thank you so much for the information.
We seem to need a big so I am hoping for Big O real bad.
It seems like we have so many versatile guards and 3's so if we get one I hope for a real good one.

Great write up Carolina151. I think we will need a 4, 5, and 1 next year.

Correct. Priority recruits are PG and C/PF as well as 1 or 2 BAs (Jones, Jones, Lewis, Francis, Bell, etc).

Portal is then obviously dependent on who we lose, if we think we can do better than available HS recruits and save for transfer plug-and-play.

Interesting list for Lewis. Iowa and ND you would expect but then a coast to coast with Oregon and Carolina. Hope she is not fixed on staying close to home.

I will take a page from our football coachers. They are recruiting from all over. Leaving no stone unturned. Damon is doing the same thing in soccer. He has gotten a good amount recruits coming in from California next year. I heard a scout say, if a recruit thinks that a program or coaching staff can improve their skill level, make them better, and help them to make to the next level, then distance is not going to make a difference to them.

A tiny tidbit from the local paper here. Looks like she had a strong relationship with an Iowa assistant, but that assistant left for a HC job. Notre Dame is at least drivable, but at 400+ miles/6+ hours and 2 states away it is on the edge of what I would consider nearby.

I will agree with Jriv23 on college balls becoming more and more national. Now that they are basically pros and money is involved, more kids acting like pros in their decision-making.

This turned out pretty good haha:

“Harping: we’ve done everything we can to remain a top player for them in their recruitment’s. high on UNC. Harping, specifically, I don’t think NIL is going to be a major player in who she chooses.

let’s keep this class rolling and turn that page to 27!

Heads up !
There is a really cool video (long) on Kate and her final HS game and lots of family things.
It is on TOS and it is well worth watching.

Quite a way to kickoff the class! So glad she's decided to be a Tar Heel. She was at the top of my "wish" list!!

We offered #45 ranked 6-2 PF Sheplee in July of last year, though I do not think there had been much movements since.

headed to Wisky

The top of mine too Mtns2Sea. I had sort of given up hope with no news on her with us for a while.
I love she is going to be a Tar Heel !
Now the top of my list is Big O, Olivia Vukosa.

#24 ranked 6-2 Ashlyn Koupal is now off the board, headed to Nebraska. We offered in May of last year, though I don’t think it went much further than that.

dook was a finalist…

I do not think you say no to Fleary if she wanted to come. She is a true PG, and Harpring is a combo guard. They could easily play together.
They can absolutely play together. There’s no question to that. If she wants to come and we’ve got enough there to bring in a proven wing and/or big if needed on top of it— then without a doubt. That said, UCLA is dropping a huge bag— but they’re all the way across the country. If she goes to Duke or UCLA (her other 2 finalists with us), she will play over 30 mpg as a true FR. Unless she is that ahead and prepared for the college game one Day 1, I don’t know that happens here with a backcourt four of Harpring, Kelly, Grant, and Elina. And that’s not including JZ who is said to be much improved. So, UCLA has not only the most NIL but the immediate PT aspect as well. Duke has the immediate PT. And Carolina has the family feel and atmosphere, close to home, and bond that resonates well with Autumn and her mother. Which will win? We should find out within the next month.

We live in the rev share/NIL era. For a top recruit the primary question almost always now is not ”can they earn PT?” Or “is their room on the roster?”

it is, “can we match their best offer?” or “how does this player affect the entire team’s salary cap?”

so I don’t think it is as simple as “If Fleary wants to come, she is the level of player you always take.” Because there is an opportunity cost loss to whatever $ she commands. And it goes beyond just the recruiting class; it ripples down through player retention of the entire roster from freshman to returning starter to grad transfer.

Banghart is not just looking for talent. She is looking for affordability. And she is making sure there are no holes in the roster once all the money is spent.

Good point on affordability. On most players it is a bidding war between the schools they like.
I think Coach Banghart is also looking for team fits personality wise and of course talent and roster wise.
I think she works hard on having a happy family atmosphere.
We could still need to go all in on Big O if the checkbook is getting low so close to a full roster.

Duke has two point guards that will be there is Fleary decided to go there that she would have to beat out. Emilee Skinner was ranked number 4 in the 2025 class. This girl is really good. She could start for them this year. They also have Riley Nelson. So she would have to beat them out as well. To be honest, were if she decides to go, she will have to fight for playing time; therefore, I do not see that being a problem if she chose us. I hope your guys understand that when Kate H comes in next year, IN will be gone. Elina and (RK who will be a senior) will be the only two true point guards. Getting Fleary IMO is a must because RK can take her under her wing and teach her how to play the point on the college level before she graduates. As I stated before, LG and KH are more affective if they are playing the 2. They can play the point but their game will suffer some on the offensive end. Remember, when DK played the 2 she was more affective, but then when she was forced to play the 1 because players were hurt. This hurt her offensive game because she was trying to run the offense and score at the same time. It is very hard to run the point when you are use to being a scoring guard. The tapes that I saw on KH showed her being more of scorer and she did not set up other players to score which is what a true point guard is suppose to do. This is the most important fact that I think no one has brought up yet on this board which I will bring up now. UNC is going to be leaving the ACC and this is no secret. It is a matter of when. The moves that the brass at UNC is making in both football and basketball is an indication of what is coming. CB is getting ready for the move to the SEC. The football team hired Bill Belichik, the Men's basketball team hired Jim Tanner as its GM. BC will be moving to a higher role next year, and the guy that is taking BC's place as AD knows how to get money for NIL and he knows how raise money for the school. He also knows how the SEC works and money is raised in that conference. These moves were done strategically. CB is getting ready for this move by stacking more talent on the roster. This another reason why we need to Fleary.
