11. Tazewell (2-5) 14.572
12. Lebanon (1-5) 12.500
13. Gate City (0-7) 12.285

Not sure about Giles-Appomattox tiebreaker they might be reversed and Graham Ridgeview would be by who scored most points. Checked my math four times because shocking Virginia on too in D. Loss was to Tennessee who still gives them 15 points compared to Unions 18 for Gate City win. Virginia beating 3a Abingdon was 30 points.

Raiders win out should still be in the 1 spot even with 9 games counting , doesn't Giles and glenvar still have to play ? And does this even matter anymore because of region play now ?

The winner of Giles and Glenvar will get a lot of points. And it matters more now with regions, 8 make it in each region. 1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5. Home field for highest seed until region chamois crowned, then Region A winner hosts region B and Region C winner hosts region d winner. Then those play in salem

Glenvar still plays Floyd and Giles with great records. Appo has WC, Gretna with great records, and Colonial. Those on here that say Appo will still get to #1 if Glenvar and Appo both win out. What math are you basing that on specifically? I have an open mindset but I am doubtful you are correct.

Didn't they play a private school? So their official VHSL record is 4-1....that game won't count in point system
Just to clarify, it's not because FUMA is a private school that the game doesn't count, it's because FUMA is a "boarding school". I know it doesn't matter for this argument, but I wanted to point that out.

Colonial Heights is better than they have been in several years, but they cannot compete with Appo. They just don't have the depth. Most players have gone both ways all season and they getting worn down. Coach Edwards had great participation in conditioning over the summer, but it's only been one season, and Rome wasn't built in a day. They won't quit, I can guarantee you that. But, there are just not enough horses in the stable. Honestly, I'm not sure they will win another game this regular season. They face 5a Matoaca, 5a Prince George, Appo, and Dinwiddie. That's a tough gauntlet.

Tell me I'm wrong, but Appomattox stil has 4 games to play and Glenvar only has 3. So if both win out would Appomattox not be able to close up the point gap?

Doesn't go by how many games. If Appomattox has 4 games left, and fork union not counting their points are divided by 5 right now, while Glenvar is divided by 7 if they have 3 games left

If Appomattox gains more points per game than Glenvar the rest of season they would gain, but not just because they have more games left

So 1 more game for appo would not help add to their avg?

It could or it could hurt. Say at the moment Glenvar has 200 points. They have played 7 games for an average of 28.57. Their average would go down if they don't average 28.57 rest of season.

As for Appomattox, let's say they have 160 points right now, with 4 to go and only 5 counting. That is an average of 32. So to gain points, they would have to average more than 32 per game rest of season.

Or to do it a little different way, an opponent can either help or hurt your ranking each game. If you play a team that isn't very good, your average will go down.

Right now, say Glenvar has a 24 average. And Appo has a 21. So Glenvar has 168 points. Appomattox has 105 point. So Appomattox will of course gain points in total when Glenvar has it's bye, but the amount is what's key. If they had played the same amount of games at the moment, Glenvar 168 Appomattox 147 or a 21 point difference they need to make up.

That is a tall task for anyone, which is why for Appomattox to get top seed then they need to win out and have Glenvar and maybe Giles lose

Glenvar still gets power points on off week from what Thier opponents do . It's based on average divided by number of games. There average will go up with rider points on their off week but still divide by same number of games they have played. So their average will still go up on off week. I was bored and ran several sceneries for rest of season. If Glenvar were to lose to Giles and Appo and Giles win out plus with what I do to predict their opponents remaining games I still have Glenvar with the narrowest of margins over Appo for one seed. Of course just one wrong prediction by their opponents games would change that.
