I go to an "old time" barbershop in a small town. The two guys there (both in their late 60s) always have on Fox News.

Every time I am there, they are always talking about whatever Fox is talking about. Doesn't matter the issue, doesn't matter if it relates to them in any way. I haven't been in there when Fox was talking about the WNBA though so I can't comment on that.

The thing is, they are usually talking to each other about it, not to customers. Course, customers will speak up and talk too sometimes but they both seem more concerned with what the other is saying than what customers are saying, but they remind me of a married couple talking back to the tv. It's actually pretty amusing.

I don't watch CNN, MS (whatever they now)- and certainly don't watch "The View" LOL

But your response is odd- given that Fox's audience is obviously the most loyal and biggest audience of those you mentioned. Fox even had a recent marketing campaign for advertisers about their audience being the most loyal and watching more hours of programming than any other audience in tv "news"

Not sure I follow the point you’re trying to make there. I will say that if there is a news event, I will tune to Fox; my perception has been that Fox is at least a legitimate presentation of ‘news’, while cnn and the legacy networks are more opinion and attempts to persuade regarding current events. The times I have watched cnn it strikes me for the world as an imitation of The Hunger Games movie.

I will say that if there is a news event, I will tune to Fox; my perception has been that Fox is at least a legitimate presentation of ‘news’, while cnn and the legacy networks are more opinion and attempts to persuade regarding current events. The times I have watched cnn it strikes me for the world as an imitation of The Hunger Games movie.

The point was simple: I responded to someone who wrote their 85 year old family member, who doesn't care about sports at all, suddenly had a specific opinion about Clark and the WNBA based on watching Fox News talk about it endlessly.

I then shared a similar story about my own father watching Fox for hours every night until he falls asleep- and sometimes texting me because he's very upset about something Fox has told him to be upset about- something I have to remind him has no impact on him at all- and that he's addicted to watching it.

I don't turn on cable news at all. If there is breaking news - like major- major breaking news (like a plane crash)- I will turn to a broadcast channel to see if they are covering it and then I will flip around a bit between those to find out what happened. As soon as they start having someone offer "commentary" on whatever it is, I turn it off.

I don't watch Fox after the Dominion lawsuit where the hosts text messages, including their "news" people were discovered to be texting info behind the scenes that was totally different than they were telling the audience.

MS - never watch. The only CNN I ever watched was when they had that Headline News channel.

I mean, Bret Bair's emails were released in the Dominion lawsuit where he was arguing that they have to "respect the audience" and not tell them things that might upset them.

a cable entertainment news channel's sole purpose is to persuade their viewers with the way they present the news.

All networks, regardless of content, are trying to attract viewers, end of story. The number of viewers, and the financial demographics of the viewers, drives the rates the network can charge for ad time and ad time sales are the biggest concern of every network.

Whether it is CNN, Fox, MSNBC, OAN or whatever, they are not really trying to convince anyone to think any certain way. They are trying to attract enough viewers who do think a certain way to be loyal viewers so they can sell ad time. Rush Limbaugh was always very open about the fact that his ultimate goal with his show was to maximize listener numbers. His particular view of the world and what he presented on his show was the best vehicle he knew of to accomplish his goal.

Agree completely with the post, except that this statement leaves out the 3 letter networks. Some people still think that is "news" compared to cable news.

In so doing, she now has more games with at least 30 points and 10 assists than any other player in WNBA history. Combined. That's a staggering statistic. Add to that, she's only in her 3rd season and missed most of last season. No wonder they hate her guts.

In comparison to the NBA, Oscar Robinson is the leader with 227 games.

I don't watch the WNBA and couldn't name more tha 4-5 players.

But averaging 16 points a game, 12 rebounds, and 2.8 assists is evidence of a good basketball player.

I compare players to their counterparts in their league. Her stats prove she's a good player.
