Here is a quote about needing a new formula to win. I guess the Bennies were right Cal.

"The lesson was you can't do this now with seven freshmen," he said. "You just can't. You're going to hit a team that's 25 years old on average, one was 26, and that team is physically going to get you, and so now we have a couple transfers that are older, some kids that transferred from Kentucky that went through it, and they're a year older, and some freshmen."

He will say what ever to hide that fact that he does not want to work as hard as he once did. He does not have the energy to go out and find/get 13 players or 12 so his new formula is 9 or actually 8 or 9 is what his original statement. He will have every excuse under the sun if a guy is injured or several are injured. Arky fans will get tired of the guy soon enough.

Very happy he is gone now and we no longer have to listen to such stuff as this from him.

Didn’t we have that the last few years? Reeves? Mitchell, Grady, Oscar? Fredrick, Wheeler? Along with some guys who had “been through it” Brooks, Ware, Toppin, Collins…

Yeah, he’s full of it.

So now the moron thinks it's a good idea to take transfers and mix them with OAD's? That's what us, The Bennies, were preaching for the last several years but you didn't want to listen. You had to do it your way.

The guy's ego was completely his undoing here and it's really sad because he could've been one of the best ever in college basketball.

Cal is fvcked either way at this point and that’s why Arkansas is going to regret hiring him.

Freshman lead teams aren’t winning, even with a talent advantage. When he loses that talent advantage, like he’s talking about doing now, he’s going to get completely out coached on a regular basis.
Cal is generationally wealthy. He's not coaching because he has to.

Exactly because when he couldn’t out talent anyone anymore he couldn’t out coach no one in the COUNTRY when it mattered!

Whats annoying to me is, ok.. lets say hes 100% being honest here.. where the hell was this the last 6 or 7 years? What, he needed to basically get fired for him to realize he needed to make some changes? Just kind of sad, it really didnt need to get to this.

Ummmm the year before he had the returning NPOY and like 3 starting returning upperclassmen and a lottery pick freshman mixed in and won 1 tournament game. People just refuse to accept that he was just an awful coach that wouldn’t even play his best lineups. He’s completely washed up.

His best teams here had a mix of talented freshmen and experienced returnees.

Last years teams youth was always a big concern despite the raw talent.
Yet he kept stacking freshman and not making sure NIL was taken care of even coaching 2 billion dollars worth of talent here. That why this ticks me off because he had another huge freshman class with no returnees over sophomores lined up here! He’s gonna say this crap now?

In other news, Cal is now certain that water is wet.

He’s coaching for Ego though and it’s been quite damaged. These articles talking about how weird it is to see him in a Red shirt at SEC media days has to affect him. He and everyone else knows it’s a down grade.
People in this fanbase aren't able to be objective about the situation so I take anything anyone else says with a grain of salt. Cal would still be here if he was getting the support he felt was needed so if you asked Cal, one-on-one, privately why he left Kentucky, I'm sure that would be the #1 reason. He couldn't assemble the sort of team he has now at Arkansas here. it's not so much a philosophical change as much as a monetary one. More people will wake up to this eventually. I just had a head start.

It's all a huge plan. He convinced UofL to hire Kenny Payne and made them a laughingstock. Now he's going to do the same to Arkansas. Now watch what happens when he gets Antigua to become the new Tennessee coach in a couple of years.

He's destroying our enemies from within.

If only Cal had the funding to acquire talent at UK, could you imagine?

Please, pretty please, with a cherry on top... please relocate to the Arkansas board. But don't get too comfortable. Arkansas isn't gonna put up with his dime store snake oil BS very long.

Please expand. Cal was given every opportunity to succeed at UK. Things most coaches can only dream of. What was he not given that was due to his own making? He pissed off major donors that effected NIL. Some of the NIL players were guaranteed didn't even get to the players due to the coaching staffs incompetence.
