Nothing will be better than seeing Arkansas get beat by a nobody in the first round.
Dude you literally cannot take any of these coaches' comments about another coach seriously. It is a brotherhood and they all take up for each other and defend them anytime given. When is the last time you heard another coach agree on another coach's firing? Never.......... It is all just hyperbole.
Never said I was taking it seriously. He is obviously saying that because he wants Pope here for the long haul. He doesn’t want UK to actually hire a good coach.
I wouldn't want Pope fired either if I was an opposing coach. It's an easy win.

As for the UK-Ark game. Both teams are playing schitzophrenic basketball. Ark lost to Auburn by 22, and Georgia by 14, and their last 2 games barely squeeked by (in Fayetteville) vs LSU (1-6) and at Oklahoma (1-7). Yet they have done enough to be ranked in top 20.
So I predict the score to be somewhere between a 30pt UK win and a 30pt Ark win.

I don't know if I agree. Cal was pretty gracious in regards to his buyout situation when he left Lexington. He could have taken us to the woodshed but he really didn't.
The last person I want to hear from is COW. He got run out of Lexington and cut back room deal to save his ego. COW’s value materially went away when NIL was put into effect. COW value was always “working on the gray area” to get the best players (with the aid of Nike till that relationship went south). When NIL hit, his value dropped and he chased big donor money to insure he could legally get the players he wanted. COW is gone and thank god. Pope should learn from self centered, narcissist COW that his days are numbered at UK and cut deal to get out of town before he ruins any future chance of coaching big time basketball. Pope still has little leverage in this regard, but not much. And after each disgraceful anal pounding Pope receives, his leverage decreases.

I wish Pitino would retire, come back and be a mentor to Pope.
I used to think that until people in the know started telling me he over played his hand with Arkansas and then found himself backed into a corner.

I don't believe that at all. I don’t think Cal has the ill will for the University as a lot of the fans have for him. He has a lot more class than some of the folks still calling him COW
Pitino isn't really Pope's coaching mentor tho.

I've said my thoughts on Fox before, I have nothing to base it on but a pragmatic line of thinking is a failed coach at a former program isn't helping this program excel.
Pope needs Pitino around openly telling to get his head out of his *** (in private) for a few years.
Come to think of it, we do look and play more like the teams Fox coached while he was at Georgia than anything resembling Kentucky basketball.

If he commented on it, he would be complimentary of Cal and the job he has done. Pitino is on record saying nobody is as good at doing what Cal does with mostly freshman. If you remember when Pitino was fired by Louisville even with the bad blood Cal called Rick and was there to support him. Rick said that meant a lot to him.
And I bet it's because Fox is playing the psuedo GM role for this team. It would make a lot of sense as to why this roster is so poorly constructed of pieces that don't fit with each other. His Georgia teams were always built that way too, with an odd amount of low basketball IQ players with decent, but not elite, athleticism.

Indeed it is. He just doesn’t bother me tho for some reason. Like he’s not over there killing it. If he went over there and had 2010 excitement around their program I would be a little jealous.. Arkansas is very mediocre like ourselves at the moment. Yea they have athletes. Of course they do. They probably beat us again. And will continue as long as we have a 8th grade girls elementary coach.
But that doesn’t make me jealous at Cal for being better than average. He’s a hall of famer. Just continues to make me mad at Kentucky for claiming to be number one but not backing that claim up with actions.
Not just the team or Pope. The whole thing. Mitch and any ppl at the top. Fans. Just everybody talks. Talk is cheap. Be better.

That’s not happening. That was a product of Barney stupid contract. I mean cal showed last year. He’s somewhat back. He went to a sweet 16. He has a better team this year probably the best team in the SEC. He’s wouldn’t be surprised to see him in an elite 8.
That’s right, him and pitino have nothing to do with one another other than Pitino coached him for a year and a half or so at UK.
Oh i know man. He has a squad but they aren’t anything special. I expect him to get to an elite eight before he gets bounced first round. Just hoping for the latter lol.
If my successor was failing and I was at an opposing job, I'd want them to keep him too. What Cal really wants to say is, see maybe you all shouldn't have been so hasty.
