It’s a win win game honestly.
I kind of agree F2M. Maybe time softens my feelings on Calipari. However, I just don’t like him at all.

I don’t consider Duke a rival. I just don’t. I don’t like the media slobberfest about them. They’re not my favorite by any means. However, my hatred of Louisville, runs much deeper than Duke.

My hatred of Calipari, also runs deeper than Duke.

Nothing runs deeper than Duke hate for me. Watching 1992 live and living thru the coach K slobfest sealed it lol. I do agree I hate UofL as much. Calipari I just like seeing lose because it validates us a little each time. He’s fortunate he turned last year around. if either lose I’m happy!

Uh, no. I hope Duke beats him by 40.
Agree. Maybe I don’t have the same hate for Duke as most UK fans but I wasn’t there for the CL stomp and those heartbreaking games. I hate them because it’s common knowledge as a UK fan but in this game I wouldn’t mind seeing them whoop up on ol Cal.

Doesn't matter what we want to happen. It's a Cal coached team early in the year vs a good team. We know how that outcome goes 95% of the time.
Cal actually had more come back than he ever did here. He had no first round picks. So???
All but one starter should be a returner or Transfer

Because of the threat, Duke is the one I want to lose more than most. Tennessee is up there too, but in basketball I don’t just want Duke to lose, I want them to suffer a painful death and fade into an oblivion. I want them to then suffer pointless suffering for eternity. I want my sons to say “who’s Duke?” When they’re 25, and I want to have to explain coach K, Duke, and that era because they never heard of it.

Tennessee is much of the same.

UL? I just don’t care honestly. I’ve said many times I get it if you’re originally from Kentucky. But the truth is they aren’t a national brand, Kentucky overshadows them so badly, outside of the state they aren’t thought about. I grew up in Tennessee raised by a Kentucky dad, I never once thought anything about UL and I’m a rabid fan. Even when Pitino went there, I was more like “who’s Louisville” than anything else. To me, they’re just like a Western type.

Having dealt with a few of their fans lately in LEX, I can see the issue. But I just tell them they’re not a national brand so I bid you well in the mid major ranks. And they are a mid major and they are going back there when the ACC blows.

Duke is a direct threat to our position. If anyone were to displace us, it would be them. I want them dead as a program.

There’s only one Duke I root for and that’s John Wayne the Duke but I the hope the blue devils beat the absolute crap out of Calipari. Lord God please let us smoke em this year. Last years loss to them really catapulted that team to a new level and they started winning. I don’t wish Cal the best at Arkansas. I just wish he’d make amends and retire. Hell he owes us many apologies for all his shenanigans here with only one title to show for. Thanks Cal for helping rebuild our program but you also burned it down again.

We need Duke to lose more. They play in a weak ACC and will probably stroll to a one seed again. Cal will lose ten plus games again no matter how much talent he has. We need a one seed again.

This is without a doubt a game where I will be pulling for Arkansas. Why? Simple, because my hatred of Duke & UNC is greater than of any other. They, along with Kansas are the only real rivals we have, rivals being schools at the same level as UK year after year. UL, like IU, like Ark are not at that same level. Then add in the arrogance of Duke and UNC fans, and all the cheating they've gotten away with the past 30 years, and all of the "slobbering love" they get from the media. Lastly, for the past 30 years (well 29) most basketball fans I've met have been UNC, Duke or NC St fans.

Man, those of you still holding hatred for the man who resurrected us from BCG amaze me. And THEN did us a huge favor by stepping down, foregoing a massive buyout and giving us a chance to hire someone who could legitimately be here 25 years. All while simultaneously falling back in love with fifteeno…

we can only dream that our top ten paid football coach does the favor for us that cal did.

truly astounding.

go Cal, beat those phags from Durham - a true enemy of the past present and future.

Cal cost us 2010,2011,2014,2015 and 2017.
But I understand those who say we can’t hold him to all of those.
and to that I say ok, but I will absolutely say he should have won 2010 and 2015.
Not only did he lose with, arguably, the two most talented teams ever, but Puke won it both years.
If he wins those two Kentucky sits at 10 titles and puke at 3.
That’s a huge difference from 8-5.

all that said….i will never pull for puke over anyone. Go hogs in that game.

We need duke to lose as much as possible. Arkansas is going to lose games in the SEC, so you really wand duke to lose as many non con games as possible.
Plus, remember, this is John Calipari we are talking about. He's the guy that wins this game, then loses to butthole state at home.
As far as who our rival(s) should be, we are the bluest of the blue bloods. I get the Louisvillle hatred, but frankly, they aren't good enough. They are little brother, hating them is what they want and it's too much respect to give such a trash program.
Our rivals should always be duke, unc, ku and we need to catch ucla. We also owe Uconn some payback.
UofL and Tennessee are just enemies, they aren't good enough to be our rivals.

Also, it's funny to me how Cal is now retaining players. He actually has a veteran roster, which is something he refused to do at UK. I get that NIL plays a part here, but when he was here, he was all about guys getting to the draft as soon as possible, because that's where the real money is.
I really hope we beat his *** in Fayetteville this season.

Well, it's easy to hate a guy that had the worst losing season in UK history, had the 2 worst NCAAT losses in UK history, prioritized the draft and individual goals, instead of the program, wasted more talent than anyone and talked down to the BBN while he did these things.

The Shaedon Sharpe bs didn't help either.

He didn't take the Arkansas job to do us a favor, he did that for his benefit.

I disagree on him costing us in 2017, he did a good job managing that game. Heck, I have no idea how he was able to overcome the bullcrap Higgins pulled on that game.

But, I feel like you could add 2019 to the list. He blew that E8 game.

I'm no Calipari Fanboy by any means but I don't understand people saying that they hate him. Did you hate him his first 5 to 7 years when we were going to final fours every other year and we were the hottest program in the country?

It’s easy to hate a guy who did soooo much for us but made our miserable lives have no meaning because we lost.
But the guy that flicked his off, allowed recruits to have ratchet *** hookers and left us then went to our most hated rival is cool now.

the reason he did it is irrelevant. He knew, we knew. It was time.
He saved us from an absolute wreck of a contract. Something I highly doubt stoops would ever be man enough to know.

I wouldn't necessarily say he "cost" us more of those years. Obviously Cal was known as a excellent recruiter and not a great x's and o'x guy. Could make the argument that without his recruiting, we aren't even close in those years.

While I understand the anger that people have with Cal over the 2nd half of his tenure, overall he took us to four final fours and won a national championship. The hate seems a bit bizzare to me.
