I don't know what happened, but when Caleb took over, players on both sides of the ball started playing at a high level, like they'd run through a wall for him. If that doesn't show Caleb has major leadership skills, I don't know what does. I was shocked to see the comparison stats between him and Rattler.

100+ yds vs 500+ yds
1 TD vs 5 TDs

OU plays at home next week vs TCU. If Rattler starts, the crowd will chant "We want Caleb" just as soon as he throws an incompletion, goes 3 and out, or turns it over. I don't see how you can put a person in a no-win situation like that. Caleb is going to have to be the starter and if he struggles, then you put Rattler back in the game.

Either way, if Rattler becomes the permanent #2, you know he won't be back next year, he's a starter and won't accept a backup role, so where does that leave us if Caleb gets hurt, I mean he's a dual-threat QB so he's going to run, which increases his chance of getting injured.

Somehow, I think those chants come before the first OU offensive snap.

If Riley starts Rattler it’ll be just to spite fans etc. to act like he knows better because he has an image to uphold imo. He got a little snippy in his post game interview with some of his answers. Too bad. Williams really seems like a mix of Mayfield and Murray.

I think he got a little snippy because he just came out of an emotion filled, come from behind, great rivalry win. He has to do right by his players, make a decision on his field general and let the players know his decision before anyone else. But, the media expects him to announce his intentions to them exclusively just minutes after the game ended. I dont think he is arrogant nor out to show anyone anything about anything. He respects his players, coaches, administration and fans. He wants to and will handle it properly, regardless what the press, students, fans or message board posters think.

Well TCU gave Texas all they could handle with a mobile qb. Now Thompson isnt very accurate but still he caused issues with his ability to run. I trust Riley to do the right thing just like he did yesterday.

Personally I don' t believe it is that tough of a decision after what we seen Saturday. The real question is will Riley make the decision on what is best for the team or what he thinks is best to keep SR around? I think we will know that answer once he announces who the starter will be for TCU. After What CW did and showed how do you go to him and say " Thanks for what you did Saturday but I still believe SR is my starter". I just don't think he can do that with a straight face to the media once he announces it and not expect any blowback leave along with CW.

I would hope that if indeed he is to be the starter that he spends a significant amount of time on executing the center-quarterback exchange out of the shotgun. For whatever reason, he appears to have trouble fielding snaps cleanly, not only yesterday but in other games as well. Sooner or later, this is going to have disastrous consequences (e.g. the opposing team returning it for a scoop six.)

If Texas had a defensive front in the same hemisphere has Georgia those would have likely been TFL's or turnovers.

Just a guess on my part, but, I think if he takes first team snaps in practice, he's going to be greatly improved in handling snaps.

I don't think it will be a tough decision either. The proper process for making the decision and making it known to the players themselves does not include the media immediately after the emotional win.

Not trying to be sarcastic here, but with kids growing up in the modern landscape of football I would think that something as basic as a center-quarterback exchange would not require getting first team reps.

I'm not a player, but, you see all the time, even in the NFL, that a new QB has to come in the game and snaps are routinely mis-handled. Have to believe that getting work with the starting center in practice makes a difference. But, since I'm not a player (or former player), that is the reason for my ???

It does take work, not every center snaps the ball the same way. It seems every snap mishandled seems to be to his right, maybe Rattler knows this so he takes half a step to the right, starting center could be half a second quicker, so the ball gets to QB quicker.

I definitely noticed an up tick in emotion and even hustle once Williams came onto the field. Can't explain it but yes, once he got comfortable,,,good things started happening for OU.

I think Caleb is more like Jalen than Baker.
Well I hope he's more like the running version of Hurts and not the passing version. I had multiple heart attacks every game Hurts played but somehow he kept pulling them out except the LSU fiasco.
