I think Oregon State will require more than 30 yard punts to be successful .

Lightbourn's story is a strange one do kinda feel for the guy and wish him well.

Thrown in unexpectedly his freshman year and doing ok under the circumstances. But he really didn't progress. Maybe some of that was shell shock and/or maybe work ethic.

Strange thing, watch him during pregame warmups and the receiver could stand in a spot and he wouldn't have to move because Caleb would put the ball on the money.... almost every time that I watched. In the game....oh my. Life is like a box of chocolates.

I don't know, kicker types are strange ducks at times.

Are they actually giving him a scholarship? You could probably find a better punter at any walk-on tryout at any college in the country.

Wish him all the best, but I still can't get the image of that onside kick against Ohio State out of my head.
Lightborne's onside kick and Jake Cotton's tipover at the line of scrimmage have to be the two of the most embarrassing single-moments for NU football over the past decade, if not longer. Luckily we will never have to watch those during the future tunnel walks.

His blunders will definitely get them on TV more. Replayed over and over

Yep. How sad. One end of the spectrum is Johnny the jets punt return, crouch vs Mizzou, Tommie Fraziaaaaaaaa vs Florida, and Terry Connealys sack of Costa. On the other end......the two you mentioned. My.

I wish the kid well, he had a rough go. Apparently Oregon st is fine with being the clean up crew for Neb.
This was all a premeditated plan by Frost to get even with OSU for poaching Gebbia at the last minute... Frost thinks, "Hmm...let's see who can we "process" to get even with OSU? I know, Caleb, you're the man. Pack your bags". Really I hope the kid has all kinds of success there. Good kid. Nice obscure place to try to restart his football career. There's plenty of NFL kickers and punters who have bloopers out there as well. If you aren't on video, they can't show it....
