He's certainly enigmatic. There have been a few games in his career when he was the best player on the floor. I'm confident he'll be fine for the long term.

this, plus some lack of awareness for what's happening near him. Not going after loose balls, etc.

Hope he gets over it. HE was a totally different player when he started for Geo. Weird.

If you want the best out of McConnell, you need to start him like Geo.. Have Mathis come off the bench - he usually gets pulled in like the first 3 minutes anyways

He's also been hesitating when he has an open look, second guessing. He got the ball on the arc today with space to shoot, but a moment's hesitation let the defense get out to him, and he passed the ball away.

He's clearly not playing with confidence right now, for whatever reason. Whether he's got the yips from recent performance, there's something going on personally, he's uncomfortable with the role he's being asked to play, he's hit a sophomore wall, or something else... it's anyone's guess.
