I was curious and took a look. Here is a little mixtape on him, He's nowhere hear as good, of course, but his physique and movements remind me a little bit of Kenny Sky Walker. He looks like a good pickup to me, but we'll see how he does in this country.

So now you can just straight up recruit foreign pro players? What was all of the Enes Kanter ******** about again? This seems even worse than that situation for eligibility or is that a thing of the past now too?
I’m guessing it was an eligibility thing with UK. Just like the NIL being behind on football and basketball due to Barnhart refusal to get on board

No, it’s just about the everything being completely different now from how the sport was in 2010. Recruiting Kanter would be no problem today.

Umm, I never claimed he was. In fact, I explicitly said he wasn’t.

Did you respond to the wrong post?
I was agreeing with and supporting your post, but adding his nationality for more information.

So can we just scour the foreign leagues for recruits? I thought they were maintaining some semblance of ā€œstudent athleteā€ BS. No?

I read it as a confirmation instead of a disagreement.

He is a Rony Seikaly, not an Arvydas Sabonis.

I clicked this hoping to find he was going to Greece to coach and I wouldn't have to hear any more of his Calisms. I am already tired of the threw us in the coffin but forgot the nails comment.

Huh? the Enes Kanter thing was totally an NCAA issue related to his professional stipends and also a vendetta against UK because he had originally committed to Washington and that same year the AD at Washington became the head of the NCAA.

Appears so. Lots of schools are doing it now and the NCAA no longer utters even the slightest peep of protest about it.

Most Nordic Lebanese person ever.

He was born there of American parents.

Does Kerr have any Lebanese ancestry? No
I understand your sentiment, of course, but he does seem to have relatively strong Lebanese ties ...

Yes, NBA coach Steve Kerr was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and his father, Malcolm Kerr, was a Lebanese-born American academic specializing in the Middle East.

Here's a more detailed look:
  • Birthplace:
Steve Kerr was born in Beirut, Lebanon, on September 27, 1965.

  • Father's Background:
His father, Malcolm H. Kerr, was a Lebanese-born American academic who specialized in the Middle East.

  • Family Ties to Lebanon:
According to L'Orient Today, Steve Kerr's family has strong ties to Lebanon, with his grandparents, Stanley and Elsa Kerr, moving to Beirut from the US in 1921 and teaching at the American University of Beirut (AUB) for 40 years.

    • Malcolm Kerr's Assassination:
Malcolm Kerr was assassinated in 1984, while serving as president of the American University of Beirut.
    • Steve Kerr's Early Life:
Steve Kerr spent much of his childhood in Lebanon and other countries, but attended Palisades Charter High School in Los Angeles, graduating in 1983.

There’s a part in Kurt Vonnegut’s Player Piano where it goes into college football. You can’t play college football and be a student so you get paid to play college football for the school and you end up having a bunch of 36 year olds waxing philosophically about whether Harvard pays more and how Tennessee puts their players up and trains them in Miami Florida.

We are almost there.

The answer to every question for some people is Barnhart. Do you think Barnhart would have benefited from having Enes Kanter eligible? The answer is in an obvious yes
