I found this an interesting name, as Apex was a pretty renown model......for a pretty long time.....for the old Ben Hogan Golf Company. For those old enough to remember, you'll probably recall Hogan being among the most premium brands on the market.

It's been a long time since I myself have heard anything regarding Hogan-branded sticks (though I have seen Hogan balls in some retail shops in the past year), leading me to assume whatever is/was left of the old Company had lost any right to the name for clubs. Using my good friend Google, I came across the following from the new BH golf business.

I myself was unaware previously that Hogan corporate assets.....after numerous corporate gyrations following the decline of the "original" BHGC......were eventually acquired by Callaway back over decade ago. I have no personal recollection that they actually had released Hogan-branded clubs; but I'm assuming the Company.....after finally divesting the golf business to the new owner, Perry Ellis.....indeed must have maintained some manner of rights to some of the old BH model names (like Apex).

Anyway, this development makes me wonder if Callaway might, at some point, release a Roger Cleveland-designed "Sure Out" sand wedge (or line of wedges).
