Why has a Louisville fan decided to make this home other pure enjoyment of others prolems? Bad look.Pope is going to get & deserves a 3rd year. He will do enough in the 3rd yr to get another year. He is on the Matt Doherty/UNC path…which is worse than the 2 yrs KP gave UofL…so buckle-up buttercup…this is going to be an interesting.

With a .500 season on the horizon and nothing happening in recruiting it Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand a year 3 would be very bleak. All of our eggs would be in the portal basket and after a year like this (where pope failed to bring in his first option guys) it’s hard to imagine making a big splash there to make a huge difference for next year. Not getting rid of pope now guarantees a bad 3rd year.

Uk to big for Pope must go after the season. Recruits are not going to come here after this debacle of a season. Somebody with winning experience will want the Uk job.
I don’t know about others but when we have a year we aren’t good enough to make the dance I’d rather us just skip any NIT post season nonsense. The NIT stands for Not In Tournament. Season is over if you don’t make the cut. I don’t watch NIT basketball even when that is where we are relegated too. It’s embarrassing frankly.

Good call. Why wouldn't any sensible UK fans be okay with a coach failing on almost all of his primary recruiting targets, dropping 6 out of the last 7 against ranked opponents, losing to Calipari in humiliating fashion, trailing by at least 17 points in five of the last six games against ranked opponents, or generally turning the UK program into a laughing stock?
This year so far is obviously a complete disaster. I’m not in the group that says “fire pope now”, but with no recruits on the horizon for next year the current status of our program is not looking up. At this point looking to next year
1)open the bank for Stokes. Can’t let Kansas take him. Don’t care how much it is. Give it to him.
2)give JQ enough money to come back. Again don’t care how much.
3)keep chandler and Moreno here, Noah if he wants to stay to have a shooter off the bench and because he is a Kentucky guy and I want to see him do well
4)get the best point guard available in the portal. Same thing. Don’t let anyone out of you.
Obviously it’s a lot more than this, but if we could have a strong PG, a fully healthy JQ, and an immediate go to in Stokes I think we could actually see if Pope deserves to continuing holding the reigns. If he cannot get it done with that, see ya later.

Fair point…I am trying not to be too obnoxious…but be honest…you guys enjoyed the UofL KP absolute 2-yr destruction. Pope is the first UK coach (in any sport) I actually like…I honestly feel bad for the guy.
