As I posted on the Round Table, it's awful that we lose a kid who grew up so pro-RU but I trust the new staff to get the right kids here so #FightOrFlight.

Can't worry about a 3 star.
He's a talented 3 star who grew up a big RU fan. No doubt this one hurts. But I don't worry too much about any one recruit. I'm also excited to see who we can flip from other schools with our new coach.

Ash is a db guru. You'd think he'd be all over the defensive back recruits. Maybe he's looking at another recruit to bring in at safety.

Abro, I really respect your passion but this post is so over the top.

"Where does this end?"

The kid is one recruit. Yes, it stings but we won't know until signing day who replaces him. What if we flip a 4 star with a higher ceiling?

It appeared to me he was never more than a soft verbal. Got the impression he wouldn't stick when all was said and done.

Everyone should have realized there'd be decommits. It happens with a staff change and especially so when a kid may be looking for any reason to switch.

I don't feel like this one is over. RU will and should stay in it until NSD (national signing day).

I want guys with RU legacy and Cambell is really talented. I think once the new staff is set , they can work on getting him comfortable here again.

Cambell -- you're a Jersey guy. Take your time getting to know the new RU staff and we'll welcome you back with open arms

There will be a lot of this between now and signing day. With all the coaching changes one would expect it. We are in one of the two best football conferences. If you are a football player and you have the oppertunity to play in the BIG or SEC you need rise to the oppertunity. Fight or Flight.

Expect to take some hits from recruits loyal to Flood and/or assistants let go , along with the kids that might have people in their ears telling them they don't fit in the system Ash plans to run.
No problem , this wasn't a top 20 class Flood was bringing in and think Ash might be able to replace the de-commits with comparable talent.

But wait, I thought Ash was a great closer because "I would run through a wall after listening to his press conference" and because "Urban doesn't hire bad coordinators"... Turns out people here should let things play out before calling him a bust or a god

Yeh....because we just just have so many better player optonss to replace him with. Give me a break. He's the best athlete that was committed to RU. I don't care what his ranking is with Rivals. They got it wrong with Campbell. Those kind of kids don't grow on trees.

we don't know that Ash wanted him to stay or not...either way so be it...I can't say I know
enough about his potential to say if this matters or not so I'll just support the guys coming/here
instead of caring about him

No reason to panic but not a good development. Ash visited with Campbell on Thursday and by Sunday he is gone. Ash's background is working with DBs. The kid's parents were season ticket holders and he has been coming to RU games for years.

It's only a bad development if we don't replace Campbell with someone more aligned with Ash's approach.

Ash is reportedly making it clear to recruits that they have to play special teams first before they get to play on O or D. Perhaps Flood and crew were making other promises. No way to know for sure, but if Campbell switched to Pitt because he doesn't want to play special teams, then I'm okay with him going.

Have you seen his film. This kid is a special teams demon in addition to being terrific safety/rb. He was easily one of RU top three recruits.

Obviously not a "Rutgers man". Good riddance. Let's be honest, Ash probably told him to look elsewhere. Wasn't a top flight B1G caliber recruit. Ash wants to compete with OSU, not Indiana.

That's great. But clearly something he heard in the meeting w/Ash changed his mind. Or something Ash heard from him changed Ash's mind.

Lol please let this be sarcasm
I think he was really Pitt bound for a while. He was not coming here with Flood as coach. Ash had very little time to recruit him. Good luck to the young man and let's move on.

With all of the commits or possible recruits that he could visit, there is no way he wastes his time visiting a kid to tell him to look elsewhere. Especially when he's short handed staff wise and the dead period is coming up. This visit was because he was visiting Pitt.
