Can South Elgin be competitive this week against BR? My view from 10,000 feet is no. This thought is primarily based on South Elgin SOS. Is there more to it?

South Elgin can score some points so yes they can be competitive but I think BR wins by 10-14 as they have better defense

South put up 60 on Evanston in the playoffs mind you now I know nothing about south Elgin but if they put up that many points on a decent playoff team my answer is hell yeah! They can compete.

Evanston lost to NT and MS by a couple of points so it's safe to say they can hang with a couple of teams.and let's not forget BR corners are not the greatest either so of Elgin were to win I would not be surprised.

I have a bad feeling about this one. Rice's offense needs to hold onto the ball and put up big points to ensure a win. Smalling and Blain will play both ways as Rice's defense has a tough time stopping SE.

Wow, I was having a hard time getting a read on this game. I saw the SE score last week and thought this could be an interesting game. But with BR SOS, I felt they would prevail easily. Now, not so sure. Should be one to watch I guess.

I saw South Elgin again Batavia earlier in the year. SE has a very good WR (#3 I think), he gets great seperation on go routes. Batavia couldn't bottle him up all night, but it didn't matter because SE's qb couldn't get him the ball. If all things click for SE I think they have a chance. However, I picked BR to win in my bracket.

Past schedule, this team played that team, that was the score etc means nothing, It is about how the teams matchup now and in the playoffs which is a different animal. They haven't seen anyone like Smalling.

Rice and OC McKeon have been dying for a game like this vs a team that wants to exchange blows with them and not play keep away. Should be a pre shot clock era college hoops score.

S.E. did not score until the final 3 minutes against Lake Park in a 10-7 week three win. They are not playing against weaker defenses like they faced this year like in East Aurora, West Chicago, Glenbard East, Elgin Larkin, West Aurora or a banged up Evanston. It will not be close.

Haha... the experts have spoken....I am not saying it will stay this close but after 1 quarter I'd say they can hang.

Class team and staff over there at SE. Rice shot themselves in the foot several times. Smalling sat first quarter for team infraction. Mondays are a drag. As for SE, I was impressed with their skill and effort. Kumerow had a big first half but got shut down by Smalling in the second half.

#32 for Rice is a player. Clifton Taylor was a work horse today for the Crusaders. Lots of dropped balls and poorly thrown passes by Miller.

Road trip to Palatine next week

Entertaining game. SE with some really big plays. Rice outcoached themselves. Smalling interception bailed them out after rice interception with 4 left and rice missed picked six as well that resulted in SE touchdown on deflection. SE was a lot better than advertised but rice played poorly.
