Can we shut up about the SEC East title this year

Come on people. Give it up. Yea, I love UK, but I'm a realist. This team isn't there yet. The coaches are getting better, but a work in progress. Stoops and Gran took a step back tonight unfortunately. I'm sure they will learn from this.

The team is young, and we have almost everyone of any value to the team coming back. The players are learning as well.

I love this program and have a lot of faith moving forward. We are a year away it appears from seriously challenging for the East crown. And when we do next year... If Stoops continues to recruit, he and the Staff keep learning and getting better...Skies the limit. The culture is changing in front of our eyes. But we aren't there yet.

Hopefully next year we do as I think and then we stay there. Our program is coming folks. Just not there this year.

SEC East title is a 'feel good claim' for Kentucky football. We are not currently a team that is worthy of the SEC East title in most years... or almost any year for that matter. It would have been awesome to have, but its not who we are, not at this stage anyway.

Look who we were a few months ago. A team struggling to beat our out of conference foes who were lackluster. While the East title would be nice, we dont need it to justify this season as a success. A bowl game is something we can build on. Maybe we become contenders in the east, but this year we are most likely a pretender and thats not a knock on this team. Inexperience and instability in the coaching staff cost us USM, while inexperience and a few bad breaks cost us the game tonight. If we build towards becoming a good team, these breaks will more than likely fall our way on occasion. We are young and talented and i like the trajectory. We cant win em all, regardless if we played well enough to.

Still have a shot, just not as big

As long as it is possible you still have a shot. Even a win last night was still depending on us winning at Tennessee. (When was the last time that has happened. Or heck how many times have we beat them in commonwealth) and to get some help from lsu.

After the start of the season, and where we were when this staff took over. To have a shot with one game to play is pretty remarkable in itself. On my life time (1982). We have had now five seasons of being just even in conference and we are that this year!

It should go without saying that after losing last night, winning the East is no longer a hot topic.
But hey, people like to start threads.


What's sad is, this is the closest we've been to wining the division in its 25 year existence, and we are likely going to finish 4-4.
