Unless fitz finally recruits well, we will never be a power rushing team. Randy Walker was right, ie., spreading out the D helps equalize slower teams.

Ironically the power run game out of spread sets it about the only thing occasionally working on our offense right now.

It was run first with a lot of zone read and zone blocking, which is what made it so effective with the personnel we had. I don't think that's what we do now at all.
Zak Kustok would often keep it on the zone read, which is what makes that play effective.
How many times did Hilinski keep it on the zone read?
It's one of my favorite plays (until the QB gets hurt). I always thought Thor was a little lazy about the fake (i.e., didn't continue as if he had the ball, and anyway he didn't run it himself that often. Colter/Mark were excellent, I loved watching them run it. I imagine that Marty and Hull, with all of their years in the program, ought to be able to do it well.
What is it that you think we are running on offense? We are in spread for godssake! We run the zone without the zone read b/c we have no real dual threat QBs. We are not in two TE Power I only running between the tackles!!! If you don't run zone read and QB keeps you have no misdirection nor threat to the backside to keep defenders honest and make them stay home. When we run our zone plays there are 11 defender running to the ball immediately, it's a wonder we have tailbacks that are as successful as they are. If you want to run zone you have to run zone read front side and back side with a QB that can beat their ***.
