Depends on what you're watching for. Solid defensemen aren't necessarily scoring highlight reel goals like Gretzky or McDavid, but they block shots, and make good passes out of the defensive zone to lead to offensive rushes. Jaccob Slavin on the Hurricanes (74), is one of the strongest and most underrated D-men in the league.

Good forwards will generate scoring chances, even if they're not flashy, and get the puck deep and establish physicality on the forecheck.
Thanks

Good dominating win last night. Powerplay looks like the Canes used for a breather. Very odd that they seem to slow down and get stagnant with a man or two advantage. Love a shutout and Montreal's fans turned on them last night.

The Canadiens definitely struggled last night, partly because the Canes were really good and partly because they just looked tired, and wonder if the passing of Quebec native Claude Lemieux today will give them a little extra motivation moving forward. Crazy that he was the torch-bearer on Monday night and passed 3 days later.

EDIT - Information came out tonight that it was suicide

I think TNT has blown ESPN out of the water in terms of their hockey coverage this playoff. Their product is much more fun to watch, and I think their crew/analysts are much better as well.
Yes, and this has been the case for a few years running. They (the TNT intermission/studio panel specifically) are a big reason why I started tuning into those random western conference series a few years back. The guys are knowledgeable and also funny. They also don't pander to the bigger market teams as much as ESPN does. And Liam is a sneaky good anchor. You almost don't notice it but he's slick.

TNT's arena team--at least for the East--isn't great.. Eddie O and Boucher don't let a game go by where they don't make it obvious that they are rooting for our opponents but I just tune them out. Jackie Redman (sp?) is great.

I do want to say that Mark Messier on ESPN is pretty fair to the Canes. And I try to cut PK Subban some slack because he's played for several teams that have been eliminated by the Canes in painful fashion or otherwise have a reason to dislike us (like the offer sheet spat with Montreal, etc). Emily Kaplan, ESPN rink-side interviewer, is great.

Had the privilege of meeting him two years ago at our hockey team's alumni golf tournament and he seemed like a nice guy.

Claude was also Freddie Andersen's agent, definitely been an emotional last few days for him.
