They can keep winning their SEC championships on the internet in the off-season. I'll take the Louisville program and what it actually accomplishes, which includes continuing to expand seating capacity instead of taking it backward.
The crap that passes for reality at UK boards is a study in denial, resentment and absolute, cold lies. For a badarse team with an APR of 946 - which completely devoured any shot they had at getting the "exceptional" bowl game for the "struggling class" of 5-7 teams - mentioning our own near perfect APR and the fact that Charlie graduated 94 of 97 recruits becomes "look how easy UofL makes college!", lol. The arrests and misbehavior of UK players never seems to rise to the inherent evil of all things Louisville, in spite of their own team's literal sabotaging of their own QB.

They are beside themselves at their own irrelevance. They really don't handle it well at all. But there they are - a virtual laughingstock at the sport in their own conference and nationally for those who take the time to actually care enough to read about bottom dwellers.

Watching "Yahtzee's" has become a Louisville recreational sport. Watching them flap their gums as Internet champs in off seasons delivers a rare humiliating humor which only the truly hapless can earn. Speaking for the rest of us, we can only hope that they continue the charade of participating in the sport of football. This is a level of relishment Louisville fans cannot possibly get enough of.

It was funny watching the spin on the shrinkage of their own stadium last year. At first they were really excited. Everything would get renovated, much cozier! Then when they went to games they started noticing a few things. Their seats weren't quite as good as in the old stadium. And all the friends they had made over decades of losing were moved around to different sections.

What really happened with their stadium is, Barnhart realized he couldn't raise prices on the loyal UK fans without getting rid of a lot of seats. Now prices can go up. The seats they lost were never going to sell anyway, and you can't raise ticket prices when 20% or more of your stadium doesn't sell out.

Louisville will likely have some empty seats at some games, but they will get sellouts for the big games. And, if you want to be a big time program you have to get bigger. It plays into recruiting and perception of the team.

Barnhart: Eliminating seats to create false demand, limit the effect of future fan revolts, and jack up ticket prices.

Jurich: Building a bigger stadium to show Louisville is serious about football.

Exactly. You can't catch up with the future. You have to be ready when it's here. When this program finally hits its' peak and is in the play-off and becomes a high profile program, we don't want to be unprepared. If you have lofty goals, that should be seen through preparation in the now. Jurich has been doing that with every program since he's got here. It's the primary reason we have risen so quickly in regards to the athletic department as a whole.

But wait! If Boom hadn't gotten injured, UK would easily have won last season. Hell, the year before that, a dropped interception was the only thing between UK and a certain victory, just like the year before that.

Face it - the highlight of UK's history is injuring Michael Bush. It is what separated us from playing in the title game that year.

I remember in the '80s when we sucked so bad, the stadium was empty, they were giving away seats at Kroger. Everyone at UL focused on what WE needed to do to get better. Hire the best coaches, get corporate support, build the brand. I just shake my head with the misdirection that is continuous in Lexington. Make your coaches accountable, your fanbase, your local businesses. That is what Jurich and everyone in the athletic department has done here. You will never get any better if you keep blaming other people for your problems. Its basically lying to yourself.

Also with a hotshot QB making noise, and a better hotshot QB coming in under Bobby Petrino calling plays will help with marketing all-so-ran games/teams! Fans love run-up scores!

From the BlewBoy thread:
"U of L better hope they don't schedule any games on a Jewish holiday or it will crush their attendance." Just the level of class you expect from that fan base.

FWIW we have and it was discussed on here a bit.

Attendance was "normal".

They talk to hear their brain rattle.
