If we get back on our feet quick enough and begin to try and March past this tragedy...I wonder if WCU will allow us to use the stadium for home games again? I believe that's what happened in 2004 but it's been a minute so I could be wrong? Thoughts??

I know Enka has offered it's football field when they are ready to start back, but that's secondary. I live in the area and it's even more devastating in person. Son-n-law works at the mill it's awful. We are praying for the best up in the Cruso area!

I live in Cruso myself and it's hard to believe until you see it in person. The pics don't do it justice!! I was blessed big time to have only lost my vehicle and power for a few days....still out to this point in time. That's so minor by comparison to the 2 people found deceased and those who lost their homes and all their belongings!!! Such a tragedy and YES! PRAYERS ARE NEEDED! Once we get passed this there's nothing like some Friday night football to bring the community back together slowly but surely!! Let's keep praying yall! God has us in his hands!!! 🙏🙏🙏 Praise Jesus! 🙌

According to school board meeting today, many people were out to help clean up athletic fields today. Apparently the football and softball fields look much better and the Astro turf company will be coming to assess and/or repair damage on Monday, and engineers are to inspect the bleachers for any damages as well in the coming days. Apparently there has been people from every end of the county out to help, it really shows how this county comes together during hard times regardless of the differences on the field, I really wish I could help out but work gets in the way, I'm going to try and do something to help out this weekend if at all possible, according to school board if you are interested in volunteering to help out you should contact the school in which you want to help and ask how to help, the fields for Tuscola Baseball and Softball were also flooded and are in need of volunteers for cleanup as well, but, according to them the Pisgah Baseball field is very, very bad. I just feel so bad for the people and businesses and farmers that have been severely affected by this on top of the Covid situation of which many businesses were finally seeing and end in sight. From all reports the damage is just unbelievable up in the Cruso and Bethel areas and I really feel terrible for those affected, I hope everyone is able to get the help they deserve from this disaster.

Haywood County folks,
I don't know to what extent but there was collections/donations @ the Franklin vs Murphy game tonight in Franklin. I'm sure other teams are doing something similar for those affected. Would love to see this take off statewide! Football wise there is no love loss between Macon & Haywood Counties but when our Mnt/NC kin are suffering we must rise to action. I'm assuming that Transylvania County as well as any others affected will be included. God Bless all of those affected.
