that is exactly correct...Trump was a private citizen and not subject to national security or blackmail as were the others...even YOU should be able to grasp that

The only Navy commander to get his ship cut in half by a much larger ship. I talked to a another ship commander to ask him if anybody besides a Kennedy would have been disciplined for that, he said yes. Losing your ship would have resulted in loss of command. The fact that he was from a famous family and the towing his fellow sailor to the island saved his butt.

His visit seemed very spur of the moment.

Nope, the commander I spoke with worked with the diver who was the feature in Men of Honor, starring cuba gooding and Deniro. You lose your ship, you get disciplined usually. Not when You r dad is Ambassador.

Look it up......From what I can find, the US lost 700 ships during WWII. One captain disciplined. You ask a Captain without radar, in radio silence, with no running lights to sit in a shipping lane.....one of the risks is a collision. That's a fact. The Japanese ship never saw the PT boat either.

Your premise is pure stupid. Do you think all the commanders of the ships at Pearl were disciplined? How about the ships sunk or swamped at Normandy? Guadalcanal? How about the ships lost during the Battle of Midway or the Coral Sea? PT boats were small wooden boats. It wasn't like Kennedy was a decorated commander of a large ship.

It isn't as if Kennedy ran the Yorktown aground......I am sure the PT skippers weren't the best skippers the Navy had. Heck he joined the Navy reserves in October 1941 and was commanding the PT boat a year later....... probably not well trained.

Quite the opposite, it takes a month to plan a presidential visit a high security area.

ADmiral Kimmel was blamed for Pearl Harbor when he was never given the intelligence that was available to him that might indicate that Japan might attack. That was the governments fault again.
