I think Gaines and Turner make perfect sense. In fact, I think it would be a bad sign if it was anybody else.
Actually, if it was Koop, I could see many positives in that. But I don’t think that will be the case.
Koop? Surgeon General par excellence?
While the president who appointed him declined to publicly utter the word "AIDS" because it was a virus that only afflicted gay men, Koop stood up with a lot of backbone and made it a national/international focus. That saved thousands and thousands of lives. W. showed similar bravery with his focus on the Africa AIDs epidemic.
They get no credit today because they were both from the wrong party.
Didn't forget. My thumbs were fighting over how many letters they could strike simultaneously.
Man, I hope they don't run out ten captains again. Just get rid of the captain moniker then - it is a joke. The captain, or in some rare cases - co-captains, should represent the true top leaders of the team. The damn thing is becoming a participation trophy. Congrats, you made it to senior year - here is your captain status, along with all the other senior and true captains.
