Nice straw man dude...I haven't heard a single solitary fan who said Stoops was the 2nd coming of Bear Bryant. Absurd.

Its called an exaggeration and is based on numerous posters patting their own backs and claiming that stoops is a success based on one game

Its false, but at the same time so is anyone saying hes been a bust.

I got a whole lot of problems with this.

Concerning get conservative: We'd just gotten a 1D running. Before that we were 2 & 15 & ran for 14 & then made a 1D. WTH do you want? We're trying to run down the clock to give LV little time to score after we do. We'd been successful moving the ball just as we were all day. Do you realize we ran 3x for every 2x passing? It's not conservative. It's totally intelligent & you fail to realize it.

Our D is what it is. 5 yarding against that O & waiting for them to make a mistake is what it was all about - and rightfully so. As for not calling a TO, I'd presume we were going to had LJ not fumbled - the mistake the staff was allowing them to make. We had plenty of time left to score if LV did as our subsequent drive demonstrated. Give Stoops & Gran just a little credit.

As for you not being sold on Stoops taking us further forward, so what? He's taken us from 2-10 to 7-5. I'd cut him some slack after this season before starting into your "What's he done for us lately" routine. Good grief.

Lol

Just like we called timeouts against uga? i believe we took 2 to the next game

Completely ignorant to give credit for the fumble
Apparently you cant read the numerous spots where i said he has earned an all in fanbase

That does not mean hes above reproach

You dont spite your hand to save your finger you score then worry about time. did his strategy get us a score? no .. in fact we were up 7 when he went to it. they subsequently stuffed us, tied the game and would have had us at 3rd and 11ish if we didnt fumble

So yes, stoops has turned us around thats wonderful and im happy for him and the players

But unlike you, im not satisfied with this in the future.. sorry you are, but i think our fanbase deserves a trip to atlanta. deserves new years day bowls once on a while .. deserves to have a number next to our name. shameful you dont feel the same way.. i hope stoops does it for us. we will see

We rarely see it as UK football fans, but yesterday was just one of those days when everything seemed to go right for UK. Who would have thought UL, and specifically Jackson, would turn the ball over 4 times? Who would have thought a defender would pull up at the last second with a cramp giving UK a TD. What I saw anyway was a UK team that looked confident and secure in their identity as a running team. Perhaps it was all in my mind, but I seemed to see a team that felt like it was going to win. UL scores 2 mins into the game, and UK comes back and scores in 10 seconds. I knew then it was on. Yea we gave up 38 pts, but to one of the most prolific offenses in college football, and one which had racked up a lot more than 38 on a bunch of teams. Despite their loss to Houston that was a darn good football team our Cats beat yesterday.
We did get some lucky breaks yesterday but considering the 5000 unlucky breaks I have witnessed over the years, we were way overdue for the ball to bounce our way for a change.

Well since our record is 7-5 Stoops is getting credit for more than just ONE game. And I'm sure that win over UofL yesterday also qualifies as a better road win than anyone in the SEC had all year. I'm not calling Stoops the 2nd coming of Bear Bryant by any means but he deserves all the credit in the world for the turnaround the team had this year.

I agree 100%. No where did I disagree

But **some** ppl are using this one game to anoint him which I disagree with. Follow it up with more wins like this and I may agree with them.

The almighty dollar pulls the sled and both fan bases will fill the coffers which is what bowl games are all about.

I'd like to see the old barriers broken where x conference HAS to play y conference, and have it be more about
intriguing match ups, but sadly like so many other things, that ship has sailed.
Who wouldn't love beating IU anyway?

Actually I do....because of the Red Shirts-(in which I'm glad they were not burned long term) and what coming in....before the year said 9-3...unfortunately was dead on...next year barring injury it is us or FSU in the ACC Atlantic...but my only cause is I felt Petrino didn't do a good job at all down the stretch....and trust me....losing Hughley not much of a loss and not that concerned with losing Quick...especially since Smith, Samuels, Bonnefon and Dawkins will be back at WR and Fitzpatrick will be in the mix. Only real concern on defense is getting a replacement for Brown in the middle.

Will have a much better grasp in the Spring and after signing day...if I change my mind I will let you know in April...before the 2016 season had a 10-2 Ceiling and 7-5 Floor...but said 9-3 when it was all said and done. Next year barring massive injuries and recruiting continues expect to be playing in the ACC Title Game.

That is some optimistic stuff right there. 12 of 22 starters back and you expect to be in the ACC championship game. Only thing I agree on is your wide receivers will still be very good. But the rest is just wishful thinking to expect the inexperienced replacements on your D to be anywhere near as good as four multi year starters that will all be in the NFL. And your recruiting on both lines of scrimmage in the last two years has been anywhere from mediocre to piss poor.

You also said you expected to be ranked pre season top12 going into next year and the second choice in the ACC behind FL st. No way either of those things happen. Your Oline will still be seen as a major issue and you will be losing 4 of top 5 defensive players (with Alexander being the hold over).
Bottom line is after Saturday, UK and not UL looks to be the team that arrived a year ahead of schedule with 19 starters returning next year. Other than QB (which isn't as big a gap as it previously looked given the way Johnson played) and punter, I would take UK's players at every other position group over UL.

And I really don't see that changing in UL's favor after Jackson leaves next year. JMO

For someone who doesn't disagree you seem to not agree a whole lot.

And lose some weight, it might improve your outlook on life.

We will see and believe me I have a better feel on the roster than you as you have a better feel on the Kentucky roster-(and my issue with Kentucky was more about coaching and player development)...that why we play the game and to be honest we had a much bigger talent loss from 2014-2015 and came out fine when Louisville lost 7 players off the Defense as NFL Draftees-(before you throw Hurtt in I do get a kick that if he so called cheated at Louisville how come we didn't get highly rated classes...ranged from 29th to 52nd during that era) and on Offense lost 3 OL and 2 are current starters in the NFL to go with DeVante Parker and Eli Rogers....in a year we will find out who is correct and who is not...just remember we been hearing the demise of Louisville Football most of this century....it hasn't came about....a dip during the Kragthorpe years. Also felt if we would have won out ahead of schedule....at 9-3 pretty much what I expected and with the Bowl game and finish up on recruiting on schedule for the 2017 challenge.

And as well as Steve Johnson played he is not Lamar Jackson....really...

Also, disagree on our Top 4 defenders....Brown and Kelsey are gone....Hearns and Alexander are back...if you actually watched Fields didn't have a good year. Also you fail to take into account that Louisville is returning 8 of it Top 11 in tackles for 2017 and their sack leader in 2015-(Redshirt, will see how he doing in the Spring) and the 2016 sack leader in Hearns. Again know what is being held out...gave the same warning in 2015 when we had much more loss of talent. The talent loss is minor in comparison in what happen from 2014 to 2015...came out just fine.

Bottom line you won this year and should be good next year as will Louisville...but to say now Louisville not going to be good next year and consider with FSU as the favorite in the ACC is IMO wishful thinking. Upset happen...to me this game was a mirror of Pitt @ Clemson ...huge home favorite that the underdog force 2 Red Zone Turnovers and the underdog team beat on a last second FG...but that what good teams do...take advantage of turnovers they force.

Depending on what UL does in a bowl this season, I do expect UL to start the season ranked in the top 15 in the country just based on Jackson alone.
I'll admit I don't know their schedule next year but I do expect them to come back to the middle of the pack in the ACC based on defensive losses alone. I also expect a little of the Deshaun Watson effect to hit Lamar Jackson. IMHO I look for Jackson to run less as he looks to protect himself for the pros.

Clemson takes massive losses....they lose their entire skilled position along with 2 OL and our schedule is very favorable...They will still be very good.

I only see 2 or 3 losses on that schedule. At FSU, At UK , and at UNC are games that are possible losses. I think UL will be favorites in all the other games.

-(before you throw Hurtt in I do get a kick that if he so called cheated at Louisville how come we didn't get highly rated classes...
Funny how you didn't mention Bridgewater in you class ratings.
Kinda of dangerous to mention Hurtt and Bridgewater in the same topic.

Can't argue...we have a 4 game schedule...Kentucky, Clemson, FSU & UNC....I feel with you winning 7 out of the last 10-(you should have beaten Georgia) Kentucky going to challenge seriously in the East as we will in the ACC Atlantic.

I did...the Bridgewater Class was 29th Nationally....Bridgewater was gone in 2014....but that class still had a boatload of 3* players that became NFL Starters including undrafted Eli Rogers now a starter for the Steelers.

Again Good Luck in your Bowl and see you guys after Signing Day...Pike if you want can continue this later on the Louisville site after the Bowls...only came back to offer Congrats on the win Saturday

IDC to admit it I'm one of the people on this board that was disappointed that we didn't get Petrino and I was wrong for thinking that way. Many posters were wrong on that. I'm happy as hell that stoops and our staff have turned our program around. Stoops has shown me how important it is to be patient. Some posters on here were patient and give him time to stick to his process of building our program. Those posters were right. It's tough to turn around a bad program and ole stoops has done a fine job with our program. Been a great day for the BBN.

I hope more people remember that in the future. UK fans are loyal but not always the most patient. Some just forgot the train wreck this staff was left with.
