CG also played lake zurich. LZ may be 1-3 right now but they have played tough opponentsWho has Huntley really played absolutely nobody and CG's only test was PR first wk and they got the win so with that being said I'll go with CG big.
I'll give you that I totally over looked LZ and yes LZ has always been tough.CG also played lake zurich. LZ may be 1-3 right now but they have played tough opponents
I mean Huntley has a nice team but CG is CG so.....[/QUOTE
CG has had Huntley's number since Huntley joined the FVC Valley, but this may be Huntley's best team yet, while not CG's. Huntley also returned the majority of their players while CG graduated the majority of their starters from last year.
I haven't seen Huntley play this year, but have read the press. They are at home too which gives them an advantage. However, as Edgy says, CG is CG so I have to take the Trojans 28-20. Offense is moving the ball and is less one-dimensional than in the past with a decent passing game. Number of quick, athletic backs to compliment the FB Pennington. Defense is also stepping up and as the past, is fast and athletic and swarms to the ball. They do, however, play a lot of players both ways under Seaburg while the former coach, Kay, did not. Could be a factor in the game.
welcome aboard CGgrad - we've always needed another CG voice here in the regular season. CGsupporter has been putting in work alone for a long time.Been following along on edgytim since I was in H.S. figured it was time to give CG another voice.
I would expect Huntley to attack CG much like Providence did in the Title game by running the ball for first downs to keep the clock rolling. Huntley over the past few years has played themselves out of this game by turning the ball over a lot and committing bad penalties. If this Huntley team is discipline, CG will have their hands full.
CG will be CG and grind out first downs. CG wins a close one 31-28.
I must add this CG team has been a surprise so far, this week will be very telling if the Trojans reloaded or in a rebuilding year.
I have a great feeling CG wins by three scores...Been following along on edgytim since I was in H.S. figured it was time to give CG another voice.

The question becomes, when is the last time Huntley has won a BIG game?
Might be tonight.
Huntley leading CG 22-0 late in 3rd
Damn. Well done Mr BinettiMight be tonight.

CG couldn't get its offense going tonight as Huntley did a very good job stuffing the run for the majority of the game. After Huntley's first TD, on their first drive of the game, the Trojans did have a chance with a decent drive and dropped TD pass; and they had some other decent drives in the game where they got down to the 10-15 of Huntley and simply couldn't convert. Give Huntley credit, they looked solid, had a 15-0 lead at the half, and gave CG trouble with their passing game. Trojans had some opportunities but couldn't get the job done against a better Huntley team tonight.even though CG is the name-fav and even if huntly is loaded...these games are still hard to win. It's not called getting the monkey off the back for nothing.
very interesting evening - score-wise if not result-wise

Thanks, Gooms. It is what it is... Couldn't get it done. Hopefully the Trojans will learn and prosper. Hope Huntley has a solid run into and through the playoffs and represents the FVC well. Good experience for an inexperienced starting group at CG who I think will rebound and be respectful come playoff time.ARE YOU READING THIS GOLDEN DOMER? At this time of year maybe this is EXACTLY what CG needed. With their coaching staff and talent I believe this team will be an even tougher out as a result of this game.
