Casillas is an idiot yet again. Says that Knight is better than Mayfield.

Tony is basing this off what he saw in the spring game. If you base things off watching one performance, then after the Sugar Bowl win, most OU fans though Trevor would be in the running for the Heisman the next season. But Tony should watch this past years OU-TCU game and how Trevor did after Baker went out with the concussion. That performance alone by Trevor will give some perspective. So him basing his comments and opinion off what he saw in the spring game does not make the guy an idiot.

Just saying that Trevor might be able to run an SEC offense better than Mayfield. Nothing wrong with that opinion. I think it's wrong though. Mayfield would be better than Trevor in any offense, even a triple option. Trevor might be a better runner, but decision making is where it's at in any offense and Mayfield is hands down the winner in that respect. The slam was only against the Big XII and the 'gimmick' offenses.

Agree. And since when does "may be better" mean "is better"?

Tony Casillas is a Sooner great and a good man. I have no problem with the guy.

Tony has been weird about the Sooners for the last 5-8 years actually, even behind the public spectacle he raises so often. I've only talked to my cousin and uncle a few times in the past few years, but from all accounts he's kinda changed as a person. However, I will always give he and his wife props for the way they were there for the cousin (on his side of the family) that he helped take care of when some awful things happened and they helped her family out huge.

I wish I knew why he has disparaged OU as much as he has over the last 5+ years.

So your saying you're related to Tony?

Loosely, yes. 3rd cousins. The Casillas family is why I played most of my junior sports (wrestling/baseball/football) for East Central's Junior programs (Foster and East Tulsa Cardinals).

And QB's are often protected in the spring games. Hell Brandon Daniels and the Blake OU wishbone looked unstoppable in the OU spring game in the 90's.

Knight has always been a GREAT Practice QB. Every OU coach praised how great he's played in practice. It's once the red jersey come off, he is the most inconsistent QB, OU has had, in a long time. I hope he has a good season at aTm, he gave a lot to the Sooners. On the other hand, he has never had back to back great games, like Baker.

Trevor was inconsistent. Sometimes very good, but mostly average or not good at all. I am anxious to see him play at A&M. Hopefully, he will do well. Sometimes a new chance, a change and playing your senior year does wonders. For Trevor's sake, I hope so. Still a Sooner. Always a Sooner.
