Cason is an nba champion. Reed barely plays so I expect him to get torched.
The comments here tonight about Reed getting crushed are wayyyyy overblown. The butthurt is creepy.

Are you new to basketball? All eyes are on the NBA tonight and they’re seeing what we saw when Reed was here. The kid can’t guard.

Good grief he’s bad. Gonna have to pick it up if he wants to ever find a way. Not surprised he’s got great instincts but never a complete package defensively. Where he’s good he’s really good but where he’s bad he’s not playable.
He kind of asked for it from the Kentucky fanbase. He’s rich he has a good life. But the way we love our players for life….. he knew what he was doing. I don’t hate the guy but I don’t look at him like I look at a lot of the players I love. He kind of put himself in the S Wheeler category when it comes to UK players for me. Not that it matters.
Reed is absolutely gonna have growing pains. The only OKC guy I see torching people is SGA. He torches everybody.

He did it to himself and this isn’t the fanbase to take something like that lightly. It’s a top 5 passionate fanbase in all of American sports. He wore a rivals shirt. Just not going to sit well.
I try and remember he’s young and all that but, at the same time, I’d be lying if I said I look at him the same. He can turn that around of course, just stop doing it and when Calipari is gone admit it was a mistake. That would end it, I’m sure with most.

Even if I was a huge Reed fan… there’s still no way to justify him being the number 3 pick. I’ll never understand how he fleeced them like that. Well they fleeced their self but still. Who was number 1 and 2 and what has their production been like?

The thing is with Reed being a top pick there’s no excuse in being as bad as he is on defense. a top 3 pick should be able to contribute to championships and right now Reed absolutely could not see the floor in tough playoff games. Just is what it is.

If you don’t understand basketball, there’s no shame in asking for help. There are plenty of posters with a wealth of basketball knowledge that would be willing to teach you.

I think In about five years he will be a decent role player. He might settle in a little this year. First game. Opening night against current nba champions. He might even be a little star struck going against former cats. One that happens to be MVP.
I didnt watch a second of this game but I think he will have a pretty good career when it’s all said and done.

That was a tough hill to climb. I actually thought he did OK, but of course made some mistakes and his size (and lack of being a true PG) got exposed if he hits that 3, the game is probably over.

If you say he won’t ever live up to his draft pick, I wouldn’t put up an argument against it. But this over reacting to every play of every game. Against the world champs is pretty out there. But have at it.

Reed wouldn’t be talked about like this if his Dad wasn’t Jeff. That’s the only reason he’s not just another 6 months and done. He accomplished nada when he was at UK.
