Shows you how spoiled we are. “Let’s turn down so and so for chemistry” How many teams can say that? Lol

Unless Moore can play some PG/SG and be a distributor I think we need one more guard. Like Jordan’s defense and Alex’s zone offense but having another guard who can pass, drive to the basket, be something of a scoring threat and play defense will be a better ft w Ellis and Jones.

Looking at next year mock drafts, Carey and Tre are the only one's showing up. The NBA clearly doesn't think much of Hurt, Moore or Stanley. Hmmmm that's interesting. Hopefully they compliment each other and play well together

I really like this kid. Very quick and active. He also struck me as an underrated passer. Also, his form on his shot is really good - I just feel like he won’t be viewed as a below-avg shooter by the time he steps on whatever campus he goes to with that form. Poor man’s Scottie Lewis is a good comparison IMO by whoever said that earlier in this thread. Kinda looked like a slightly smaller Rodney Hood who can jump out of the gym. Given all of that, I’d be surprised if he’s a OAD

Dachamp I hadnt taken a look but that is "interesting,"and somewhat surprising. Thought Moore and Hurt (who I think we get) would be on there. Perhaps...in a way its a good scenario in which we get some stability. The revolving door slows down slightly....OFC

That would be really nice. We are recruiting some studs for next year also. That team would be stacked. We will have 5 available scholarships if only Tre and Carey leave early.

As soon as they put on a Duke uniform Moore and Hurt will be on NBA draft boards. Would be very nice to get two years out of those guys.

Add Ellis with those 2 and sign Roach/Boston/Jackson as package deal along w Kessler and 2020 could be a great year. Would need another PF [Watford?] and we have another top 5 team.

I think they stopped recruiting Watford.

I know one thing scouts weren’t crazy about was hurts length/wingspan. For as tall as he is he isn’t “wide” if that makes sense. That will limit him on defense

Duke will need 2-3 bigs in class of 2020. Losing Javin, Ques, Carey, White and Robinson. Might be time to bring in a transfer for 4/5 position.

Feel certain Hurt will want to be a SF
in NBA. We need 3 bigs to compliment
him in 2020.
Hurt imo is a stretch four. He doesn’t have the lateral quickness to defend any sf in the league.
His shot is what will help him in the league and physically developing more. He will benefit a lot in college from being able to pull a big to the perimeter. He could excel on defense if he works on his timing.

Don’t think he wants to bang inside unless he adds those 20 pounds.
He better start working on lateral quickness because stronger faster guards will blow by him a the three. He looked pretty good down low but like I said he just needs to adjust his timing going up for rebounds and blocks.

I have no idea what mocks he was looking at but Tre, DeLaurier, Carey, Moore, Hampton, Hurt and Stanley are on every single one that I’ve seen.

It’s way too early for much accuracy. They’re fun to look at though.

DeLaurier?

I’ve looked at 5 or 6 different mocks for 2020 the last couple weeks and I’ve seen him late 2nd round twice. I believe he was an honorable mention on draft room. I can’t remember which ones had him and which didn’t.

I will stand correctly when I said I’ve seen that list of guys on every single mock. Javin is the exception and Hampton was only on 1 of them because they assumed his reclassification. I don’t think the other mocks assumed that.

NBAdraft.net doesn’t have Moore, Hurt, or Stanley. The recruiting services also list Moore as a multi year college prospect with Hurt as potentially OAD. They’re certainly not the forgone conclusions our last 3 classes have been.

Wow. I'm just happy when he doesn't travel after he catches the ball under the basket wide open. I mean let's be real.....

I’ve looked on NBA draft . Net, espn mock draft and NBA draft room mock.
It only has Carey and Tre in the first in NBA draft .net JD only going in the second
Espn and Draft room has Carey as a late first round with Tre,JD and Stanley in the second. Haven’t seen Hurt or Moore Jr on any draft boards as of yet.

NBA Draft Express have Moore and Baker going in the following year both second round I believe. But they did have a bunch of potential future Duke players going early, like Boston, Jalen Johnson, and Patrick Baldwin.

I’ll look later to see where I saw the others. Definitely not nbadraft.net that site is TRASH. I used to check the mocks on there a few years ago... honestly because it was the first site google recommended and I quickly learned they’re a bunch of idiots.

Stepien isn’t a mock draft but it’s probably the #1 analysis for prospect scouting and it rates them in order... unofficial mock, I love that site. Not much for 2020 though

I assume Robinson will give up his scholarship this year if we get Stanley and Hurt. We have 4 available right now. Bolden is in the air. We would have 5 available this year. If he stays Robinson has to give up that scholarship because of the potential 5 recruits coming in. So we would lose Bolden, Javin, White, Carey and Jones.

Robinson's scholarship is conditional, depending on availability. As with all walk-ons.

Assume for the sake of argument that Duke signs both Hurt and Stanley.

Robinson would still be the 13th even with Bolden returning.

By class

Bolden
White
DeLaurier
Robinson

O'Connell
Goldwire

Jones
Baker

Moore
Ellis
Carey
Hurt
Stanley

Now, under this scenario, Robinson could still lose his scholarship if Hampton reclasses and wants to come to Duke. Or if Duke pursues a transfer.

Or if Williamson decides to return. :)

Don’t sleep on Javin. Think of Lance Thomas type of career. Javin can shoot we just haven’t seen it at Duke. He can hustle and rebound. It’s not to hard for him to make it into the second round.

Or if Chapel Hole freezes over....:)

It would freeze over. It would freak them out. They would start an investigation. Sic mike nifong on Duke again and start another petition. If Zion returned to Duke it would be a catastrophe and tragedy only short of Armageddon. thr would turn upside down and their mods would double whammy ban us all. OFC

Man if Javin is a second round pick we win the title next year. This year I’m not sure he could’ve got picked in the G League draft. I hope you’re right though
