McCoy is really struggling right now. I think expectations were he would be the best bat in the lineup.
Yes sir Reuben needs some DH time. But it looks like match ups with Ewell and McCoy.
I know it is way way early. But the #1 RPI team at the moment is Wofford at 13-1 with a 31 SOS. Wofford lost their first and only game thus far to So. Illinois.

I thought McCoy hit a would be HR and 2B both today if not for the strong wind. I can see the power that’s made him such a big prospect.

I agree there is more depth than in the past. I would still would like to see Herrera get a start. The Big 10 isn’t the SEC by any means but he was pretty good as a Freshman at Northwestern.
UK is leaving way to many runners on base but they are also playing pretty good baseball right now. Throwing strikes and making the routine plays on defense hopefully that can continue as the schedule gets much tougher.
If what we’ve heard in the past is true, Mingione seems to have “favorites” and if you’re not one you probably won’t see much playing time.
Will do a bit of a rebuttal about runners LOB - at least for this game. In at least 3 innings, the Cats scored runs with 2 outs and nobody on. That’s some damn clutch hitting imo.
Given those circumstances, unless you clear the bases with a HR you will leave runners on, no way around it.
