Not unless they win it all. Then you can start the debate.

But, be honest, the last few games Darkari hasn't been so great, Booker's shot has been a bit off, our half court game on offense is a bit suspect and we had a close game against a lousy Florida team at home. OK fire away.....I know we are undefeated and maybe we will play again like we did against Kansas and UCLA, and Arkansas, but you can't have off games in the big dance (well after the first game anyway).

I would prefer to say this team has the potential to be the best in NCAA history.

we havent won anything yet but even without that this is the best team i have seen since i started watching bball in 90 . The UNC team in 09 and UK in 96 were amazing as well. But if we win it all easily the best team i have ever seen.

Even if we win it all there will be doutbers. You can't deny a team in this day and age in basketball, Era of the AAU leagues, with a perfect record and not crown them as the best team ever. Granted we have only like 30-something SOS, 31-0 has never been done by a power 5 conference team. Not to mention what kind of draw we will receive for the tourney (which we all know will be rough), if we remain undefeated, we will have earned the top spot. Gonna be a hell of a finish but if we win out, there is not denying a 40-0 team as the greatest ever.

That's why I rather play some tough teams be it in the Elite 8 or going forward. By playing patsies every round (as most would prefer), there will always be the question as to how great this year's team really was.

Like I said before, no team has ever won 40 in a single season. Couple that with no team has gone undefeated in nearly 40 yrs and If UK manages to pull it off it's basically a no brainer.

Sure you will have doubters and haters but facts trump opinion every single time.

If they go 40-0, then all you can say is they are the only team to have done so. Even that accomplishment would not be sufficient to say they are the best ever. Just because a team loses a game doesn't mean they are not better than the team that beat them. texas western was NOT better than the Runts. The UCLA teams with Alcindor and Walton were great. IU in both 76 and 77 were great.

No way to back up any argument that says one team or the other is the best ever. Regretfully, no intent to be inflammatory, I don't believe we'll be having this argument when it all washes out.

As a UK fan, I would say yes. Everyone else not a fan would debate no.

HUGE UK fan, no, teams with a ton of talent in the 90's with experience were better than this team. 1996 team has more of an argument than this team.

How can someone even say this before the Conference Tournament has even started? So much basketball left to be played...

In any case, IF you go 40-0 and win it all, you are a shoe-in for a Top 3/4 team of all time. I think most can agree with that. There will never be a consensus "Best Team in History" but if I were you guys, if you do go 40-0, I would certainly take no issues with having to be in those discussions.
