It never is in that cracker box of an arena.
At least they won't storm the court if they beat us. Vanderbilt was fined $250,000 for storming the UT game, and will be fine and additional $500,000 for the next incident. I have a feeling they will have a few more security personnel when UK comes to town.

Won our last 8 straight in Vandy almost all of them blowout wins

You may very well get your 9th straight blowout win Saturday too but this Vandy team is a good bit better than we’ve been in a while. If nothing else, we’re trending up under Coach Byington.

We go to Bama Tuesday night so that is in front of us now but odds are we lose in Tuscaloosa and quickly turn our focus to the Cats on Saturday. Should be epic.

As far as injuries Butler was in a sling post game. My experience with back problems show they seem to be fine then come back with a vengeance. I am leaning to Krissa NOT returning.

So whatever healing we get, some other folks like Almonor, Garrett and Perry best get their game faces ready we will need em.

Maybe Garrett will help us steal the game. Can anyone, without looking it up, tell me what I am referencing? :D

First off, who the heck is Garrett? You mean Garrison? 😂
Second, I think you’re referencing the ‘94 game where T Ford slipped in and took FTs for a bad FT shooter (G. Martinez?)

If you look at my quote, you'll see that I know who Garrett and Garrison are. And you'd also know that maybe it wasn't the game of basketball I was referencing. Give it another shot.

Bill is the one who mentioned Garrett…look back and read again. I’m 58 and don’t do video games. Lol
Do you know the game I’M referencing?

I quoted Bill, and in that quote was the word Garrett. Age has nothing to do with whether one should or should not play video games. So in a string of two posts you've shown no sense of humor, demonstrated you're into false stereotypes, don't know how to follow quotes, and get your panties in a wad. You only have two strikes, lol.

Lets see how they deal with Alabama first before playing UK Saturday. We're pretty identical.

This is near a must win can't fall to 3-3 with this brutal schedule and heading to Tennessee in what amounts to likely a loss. In the past Cal always used to get us a couple huge road wins a year like at Tenn or at Auburn or at Arkansas (when they were good) ect.

So we play Alabama and Tennessee twice as 2 of our 3 extra games.

Talk about a brutal draw why couldn't we play LSU and South Carolina twice (though we always have trouble in South Carolina).

I can see now why other posters have had a problem with you. First of all, yes, age most certainly DOES have a bearing on video game playing. I’d say 99% of people my age don’t give two ***** about video games. Secondly, YOU are the one who seems to have your panties in a wad, as demonstrated by your reply. Finally, it’s obvious you don’t know the game I’m referencing….which I guess is understandable because you probably weren’t even born in 1994. Now, go play your video games and leave the basketball talk to the adults.

Ahhh ... The annual road game at Vanderbilt.... after 50 years of being a Kentucky fan, and a Nashville native, I've watched many a game at Miserable gym ( and it's not just Kentucky games, I used to have season tix for Vandy every season, and you know they really like to do this to UT too ... just FYI, but anyone visiting can be hosed there). I just spontaneously take a trip down memory lane at some of the absolute craptastically officiated games we've had there....

Only thing I am going to say about playing Vandy in Miserable gym relates to these two games :

January 13 1993 - went in there #1, ( vandy unranked) lost 101 - 86. HIghpoints were : Watching Vanderbilt shoot 36/43 free throws, watching them get a 30 - 16 foul discrepancy. Courtesy of in game officials I have so loved to hate for so long.... Jim Burr, Andre Patillo and Joe Mingle. Thanks for the memories, guys.

February 20 1991 - we were #12, Vandy unranked. lost 98 - 87. The most lopsidedly worst officiated game in the history of my watching Kentucky basketball .... we went 4-7 from the free throw line and Vandy ? 40 - 51.

Remember that one folks ?

Vandy got whistled for 11 total fouls. Kentucky ? 28. If you don't remember that one, OMG. It's the very definition of how hosed we get on the road when Kentucky comes to town.

It was a Don Rutledge and company tour de force that game. How we only lost by 11 still boggles my mind. I was there at Miserable gym for that one. When I think of "Home cookin" and playing at Miserable Gym, this game is the first one that comes to my mind.

Those two games are the very defining games I point to trying to explain how jacka$$ed the officals are when they give it to Kentucky. And if you think it's just "whining" about the officiating....

Unless you saw it, or were there, I can understand your ignorance on the matter if you think it's just me being a whiny ***** about the officiating. But those two games perfectly illustrate how badly we get it sometimes. And I wont be surprised if they get the "Miserable gym puff the magic dragon" treatment this weekend.

Let's HOPE not.

Go Big Blue !

ps - I wonder, if after all these years, what Coach Pitino would say about that game (if, of course, he weren't coaching)
It would be a real interesting take.

It’s always a tough place to play just because of the set up and they have a nice team, definitely will be fired up coming off the W over tenn. We need to take care of business and would be nice for a change to jump out early and kinda take their will and drive vs giving them hope and fighting till the last few mins to pull away. Hopefully we’re healthy and Carr can give us some solid numbers.

We will definitely have to bring it in every SEC game this year. That's awesome though we are UK and that's what we want are tough games. Gets us ready for the SEC and NCAA tournaments!
