Belanger out but we don't have anyone warming up. That ball was roped. Shinn almost made a play on it.

This is not turning out the way we'd like or the way the game started. Another mistake pitch causes us to give UT the lead, a runner at 3rd with no outs.

B5 - Tennessee 3, Kentucky 2. Vols take the lead on an RBI triple by Ammons. UT has 7 hits against Hjelle tonight. He's laboring a bit.

We're in big trouble. Not hitting at all, no timely hitting when we draw walks, double plays, and our ace has given up 8 hits in less than 5 innings.

Just the middle of the game and it's just two runs. Not anything we can't overcome.

Two hits through 6 innings against the second worst pitching team in the SEC.

Obviously, that's true, but IMO this team just doesn't have it this year. Too inconsistent, and even our ace pitcher is giving them batting practice tonight.

I’ve been listening to the radio broadcast as I drove. He said they have not shown any emotion since the first inning and the team is totally flat. Their play clearly reflects that. How is that even possible with so much on the line?

Lose this series, and hosting is no longer possible. Keep losing and we could be dicey to make the tournament.

This is Finals week, right? Maybe we have some aerospace engineers.

This whole stadium has a dead or dull feeling to it. Even with UT winning it's just kind of blah in here.

B6 - Tennessee 5, Kentucky 2. Rough night for Hjelle, who gives up five runs (4 ER) on 10 hits over 5.2 innings.

I guess it doesn't help that attendance is kind of light for a game with great weather against a top 15 opponent.

Absolutely a head scrarcher...A series with a chance to sweep and the guys look like they could care less.

If UK loses this game they are in deep trouble. We haven’t been able to win a game two in SEC play. And a series loss would be catastrophic. Having said that, there is still time.

Could be, but crazy things happen. I'm going to try to take this thing one game at a time.

I have to imagine that UK feels good about Thompson going a long way if they threw Haake today when behind.

I know these are good kids on this team and it is easy for me to question stuff from the comfort of my family room. But they frustrate the hell out of me and there is no excuse to not be motivated in this game.

No kidding. Just unbelievable to me that we are flat in such a critical series with a chance to finally claw back to .500 in the league. I'm turning it off, it's pissing me off.

Pitcher averaging 10 pitches per inning if he started... that’s what you call domination

So we just lost at least the first 2 games to this crappy team??

(Assuming we lose this one and losing the second game is a given)

We are in deep trouble if we lose this series. Would give us series losses against the two worst teams in the SEC this year. Hjelle has cost himself a ton of $$$$ this year, but being an offensive guy in all sports, this is on the guys swinging the bats.
