Good for ED. Looks like they have talent coming up. ND also lost to Davie on JV level but beat CD last night according to the Dispatch.

Edit: my bad, I just realized you weren't going on overall record but just conference lol. OG continues to have a bright future with a coaching staff that has great player development, even though JV and Varsity don't always correlate after 2 years due to kids still growing, transfers, etc...

JV football is the training ground for Friday nights and where a good program has to start building.

I think that’s true, but it largely depends on overall philosophy and numbers. Thomasville has rarely had a winning record at the jv level, even under coaches Brown and Cushwa. Especially now, with extremely low numbers, Thomasville has had to pull multiple jv players to have a realistic chance on varsity. Last year, the jv team had fifteen players for the last game. The Bulldogs best runner was just brought up a couple games ago and missed the last game with an injury.
So, I never see a correlation between Thomasville’s jv record and the anticipated strength of the next year’s varsity.

JV records rarely indicate what will happen at the varsity level. We have never had that great of a JV team at Thomasville. I do think if the kids can win and get that feeling it certainly doesn't hurt, but Im guessing if you pull rosters lots of teams have pulled up players and that makes those kids even better playing with older kids and practicing with older kids.

I think that is a good point. Even with success or lack thereof, it’s getting kid reps that wouldn’t get them otherwise.

This current varsity senior class was 7-3 and 6-3-1 on JV. The last three years they have been stripped down to fill varsity spots and provide depth. THS varsity has 4 starters, 2 9th and 2 10th that are already competing at a high level. Once they all come back together, they will be a strong varsity team. The upside is they moved all the RB's to varsity this season, so a WR moved to TB and scored five TD's last night, and he is one of many that could be up helping the varsity in a few weeks for playoffs.

OC, remember back in 2004 when Thomasville pulled up a freshman by the name of E.J. Abrams-Ward for the state playoffs? I

Yeah, and EJ won championships at three different positions...fullback, linebacker and quarterback. He was recruited by Tennessee and UNC as a wide receiver. Also helped win multiple championships in basketball. Perhaps his best sport was baseball.
Maybe the best high school athlete that I have ever personally seen play.

In 2005 Dejuan Ingram was moved up for the playoffs and was a key player through 2008.

I remember Lamont getting his 2,000 yards in the state championship game against West Brunswick back in 1991and he held up a sign that said 2,000 yards state champs....that was a big accomplishment back then but now players get 2,000 yards in 10 games easy now...
I remember back in or around 1991 we pulled up a Freshman by the name of Lamont Pegues!!!!!
