Coach Collins no-showed the post game tonight on WGN. Mr. Wildcat, Dave Eanet, did not sound happy.

I assume Collins was busy reaming the team a new one in the locker room after that piss poor effort but still not a good look to blow off the interview, IMO.

Assuming this was just a fit of pique, that’s not a great look. Show up and do the job. BUT…the team wasn’t just ice cold shooting, they were just outworked and dominated on the glass. That’s an effort problem. I think they beat Dayton, got high on themselves, and were looking ahead to the upcoming mini tourney. They assumed they’d sail right past WMU, and were fortunate to survive. CCC may have decided to start with some unpleasant truth telling in the lockerroom asap.

Good info! I really hope he was too busy digging into the team. Hopefully it will set a nice tone for the season.

My wife and I played a game whenever my son's former coach stiffed the announcer for the post-game interview to yell at the team. We'd bet on how many times he'd go over the schedule and statistics before giving up and throwing it back to the studio.

I'm not sure locker room beatdowns are effective. Some coaches believe it's better to wait until the next day to let everyone simmer down. Then again, we don't know how Collins talks to the team after a game like this, either.

These are the kind of games that can be a blessing in disguise. Lots of teachable moments. I believe CC found it much more important to take advantage of the teachable moment than show up for the interview.

I believe our guys are character guys who might not need to be too blasted for this. They understand what happened and will bounce from this.
