ND vs WD: West is better this year but I still expect North to win pretty convincingly.

OG vs SR: nothing to see here. OG names the score.

ED vs Tville: see above but for Tville.

CD vs Salisbury: Salisbury D is the real deal and should be able to get penetration against the doublewing. Speed on offense will give Central fits.

Ledford vs Lexington: Ledford has their way in this one.

Doesn't look like any real interesting games this week unless something crazy happens.

Boring week matchup wise for sure.

ND
OG
THS
Ledford
Salisbury

All continue to battle for playoff spots, the others continue to battle for 7,8, 9, 10 spots.

This does look like the least interesting week of the year for the CCC. I started looking around for other games in the area and don't really see anything that interests me. Any ideas?

East Forsyth and Grimsley is the only one around here that is a really big game. If you feel like traveling I recommend Catholic and Weddington.

Salisbury dropped 3 in the end zone in first half. Also very questionable clock at the end of the first half. Should have been 17-0 at the least possibly more. Definitely need to tighten up on the offensive side of the ball. Seem like the high school version of the Bears right now. Great defense and an offense that has tools but just needs to get it all working together. Look forward to next week!!!

I'm really surprised at the margins in the ND - WD and Salisbury - CD games.

OG will be the place to be next week. It sounds like Salisbury has the D but will struggle to score points on Oak Grove. Should be fun to watch. I think Salisbury has to hope for a 10-7 type game because I don't think they want a shootout. Oak Grove is averaging 48 points a game to Salisbury's 19. Salisbury is only giving up 3 to Oak Grove's 7.5. Can Oak Grove turn it into a shootout, or will Salisbury be able to make it a grind?

North giving up 22 to WD and only scoring 35, says ND is on the down slope. Guess the head coach taking over on defense isn’t so great either. Another team they ran the score up on last year give them a game.

Also, maybe me picking Salisbury to win the conference, proves I know nothing. They may be battling for 3rd place with ND. THS May give them a game also.

Salisbury beat THS 28-0 a few weeks back. Playing without their QB (as was the case for a few weeks). Salisbury doesn’t have a bad offense at all. Starting QB had over 100 yards passing in the third quarter alone last week (first game back in a few weeks) before the game was stopped for lightning. I believe they are fully capable of putting points on the board. Not saying it isn’t possible but I would be shocked if a shootout was needed. Defense only allowed the one td all season. That was a double pass trick play at WD. This will absolutely be the toughest competition they have faced year to date.

I agree, Salisbury will finish 3rd behind North.

North scored everytime they had the ball last night except twice, and one of those times was when they were taking a knee to end the game deep in West territory. No, North's defense isn't as good as last year, but that happens when you lose 10 of 11 starters on that side of the ball. Also, West does a pretty good job of controlling the clock so they eat up a lot of time before you get the ball back. Their offensive line was bigger than North's defensive line and that little RB from West played a great game. As for the score, in 2018 North "Ran the score up" on West by scoring 42 points. Last night the Knights only managed a mere 35 points, if only they wouldn't have taken those kneel downs at the end of the game they could have run it up again this year! LOL! Please forgive me JUS-AH-FAN for getting in the way of your obsession for ND.

I didn't go to any games last night. I hurt my ankle at work and just stayed in but kept up with all the games on Scorestream.

I was surprised to see the CD vs Salisbury score being somewhat close, but then again when two teams with a ground and pound style play the game goes faster and has a tendency to get less out of hand. Scores also don't always tell the whole story. I've seen low scoring games where one team was clearly the dominant one the whole game.

As for North vs WD, ND got out ahead 21-3 and it sounds from the Dispatch article that West just kept plugging and never stopped fighting. Having coached in that area before I'm not surprised. I called for the game to be closer because West is better but North still winning comfortably. Sounds like that's what happened. North D is not nearly as good but that's what happens when you lose ten starters. North offense is still good but the line isn't as dominant this year as it has been either.

When the season began I thought ND and Ledford would slide back a bit because the loss of starters and the Midway and Wallburg communities would start to show but they were still the favorites. Oak Grove, Salisbury and Tville would challenge them but OG is even better than I thought they would be with all their players returning. Credit Coach Holcomb for that. Tville is still a bit behind but that has more to do with numbers than anything. North will have to watch out for them this week. Speed is Norths greatest weakness, as it has always been.

The top five teams are still the same top five teams. The bottom five teams are still the bottom five teams. The biggest surprise is just how bad Lexington is. I did not see that coming.

@Rameses if you have a problem with other posters you can just use the ignore button. It works great. Sometimes I have to show ignored content to see where a conversation deviated but otherwise I prefer to keep it on lol.

Next few weeks will be much more interesting guys. Football season is going by way too fast!

Sounds like the ND fan still blaming its below average season so far, on losing all those starters from last year team. Sorry if I don’t feel sorry for you guys, playing with like 35 seniors this year!!!! Next man up, coach em up! You guys was so cocky last year, and making so many excuses this year. You guys only did it to yourself and your butthole coach! In the county it’s the Duke treatment, “Anybody but North.” Haha. And yes, I’m the biggest ND hater! Last year, they wouldn’t of took those knees, throw fly routes late in the 4th, and onside kicked a few times. Now it’s the humbling ND & Coach Flynn. Don’t worry, I’ll be trolling all season.

Agree on Lexington, thought with a new coach would be a new fire lit. They have got worse. Ledford is still looking strong and looking to survive the split. North seems to be taking the hit from the split.
And don’t encourage Rameses to block me! Haha.

North still has three of those top fives to play and will not survive all those teams without a loss. Lexington will have the 2018 player of the year in their lineup from what I hear this coming Friday. The kid from Thomasville Cunningham that transferred will be a difference maker for the jackets and make them much better. So now they become a wild card to beat someone and hurt their playoff chances. Will be interesting to see what happens.

Salisbury has only given up minimal points for a reason. Their defense is more athletic than anyone in the CCC and can play shutdown. So if these teams line up four and five wide it will be no big deal. They will just cover them up man to man and dare them to run the ball at a very good DL. Ledford cannot be counted out, the offense is scoring and the defense is solid also. I doubt anyone other other than OG and Salisbury survive with less than two conference losses.

I agree. Thanks for the information about Lexington, I was not aware of that.

Salisbury definitely has a big ace up their sleeve with that defense. Being able to get pressure and play coverage makes a huge difference for any football team, and can turn a lot of games around when you get turnovers and great field position.

I don’t think any one player will help Lexington... 3 more kids? Perhaps. Lexington will lose handily to everyone else on their schedule this year... except for maybe East Davidson. I think West might even be the favorite when the play the Orange Jackets (seriously... why no yellow?)

didn’t say they would instantly be beating people, but if it is a close game he can go 80 yards quick as he has done for years against everyone in this county. Just gives them something to believe in and sometimes that changes things. Wish he was a Bulldog still. Might not be a popular opinion but the Dogs needed him whether it was for half a season or a full.

East is as bad as I have ever seen them. Once they get behind there is nothing they can do to catch-up. All night it is power, QB run or throw it to the TE. West is scrappy but doesn’t have the athletes to make big plays to stay with faster teams. If Cunningham is back and plays he will light east, west, CD and SR up.

I can’t point to the rule book on this, but I’m almost certain that if there is a legitimate change of residency, then eligibility is not affected.

If it is a pretend address change, (ie going to live with an extended family member, but not really a change of custody), then absolutely it is not acceptable and wins could turn into forfeits.

Not going far with this, but the change of residence is apparently legal. That’s not the issue.

I was at East Friday night to see the Dogs and from my point of view, East issues are play calling and lack of speed. Our guys broke away from tackles left and right. We had a pic 6 and kickoff return for TD's. Scoring in last 2 minutes of 1st half was a back breaker, that lies on Hanner. No matter what you do dont let that happen. The clock is your friend when playing speed. East offense is very boring, the QB, #4 and the Tight End look to be the only players on offense. The QB scrambled for his life most of the night but im not sure its the line or the receivers being so slow. It was a good game for 2 quarters. East has great fans and the stadium!! If my dogs ever try and punt inside their on 20 go ahead and just give the opponent 6 points. I hope they get the kicking team going this week. Its hard to bare
