Provi and MC don't make the playoffs. Rita and Rice lose in the 1st Round. It's on the Ramblers to carry the mantle.

With the shrinking feeder pool, the South Side Blue teams and Marist will form Co-op teams next year.

Rice's coaching staff will take the rest of the CCL for granted since they beat MC and Rita and lose their next game whoever they play.

While 8-1 is a nice record but this was a weak year for the blue. BR gave up too many points up all year. That was the Achilles heel all year. Enjoy it for what it was. These are teenagers not pros. If you believe in trap games this was one. Everyone here was talking about the L.A. rematch. Badke is a human being at a grade school game recruiting and putting a positive face on.

On a positive note rice gets another shot at MC. Would the game be at Gatley?

If LA gets bumped from the field before the semis, what do we do then? Is it a sign of the apolocypse? Check the skies for an asteroid strike? But even more important - where do we look for the new power conference in Chicagoland?

MSL? 3-1 so far someone said?
WSS? 2-2 so far.. meh...
DVC? 2-2 so far... meh...
FVC? - aren't they 4-0? Need to check on it.

Guess we need a few more weeks to gauge round 2 and probably quarter final results.

Southwest Prairie is 3-1....with the only loss being JT West to fellow Prairie school Oswego. When has the Prairie done this well in Round 1?

I'm beginning to wonder just how good Plainfield North is....they hung a running clock on JT West in Week 9. That's the same West team that just lost a heartbreaker 10-9 to Oswego. North also running clocked Highland Park in Round 1. Maybe the game at Bradley in Round 2 will be better than many would have thought. Although, Bradley is a tough place to play.

Oswego East held Loyola to 22 points while Loyola averaged 40 points in their CCL-Blue games. Oswego East was the 3rd best defensive team in the SW Prairie Conference. Except for Loyola, no one played good defense in the CCL-Blue this year. Oswego East only got 3 points out of three trips inside Loyola's 5 yard line ---extremely bad red zone play calling by Oswego East. Could have been very tight game.

Congrats to Oswego East - I think they looked very solid - and congrats to the Loyola defense which held an Iowa commit to 33 yards and came up with 3 big goal line defenses.

If the Wolves have an opening on the schedule, I bet LA would be interested.

Rainmaker:

Interesting theorizing.

You mention LA's solid defense, but your rationale for OE's inability to advance further and earn six points for each visit inside LA's five-yard line persists as OE's "extremely bad, red-zone play calling."

You are right, however, it could have been a very tight game, but LA's defense prevented the tight game. This is precisely why LA will compete next week.

Your hypothesizing is foolish and fools only fools who choose to be fooled.

MSL went 2-2 this weekend, only the two 11-0 teams(Palatine and Rolling Meadows) left.

I really think Barrington would have faired better had Niro not been injured..allowed MS to key on Moews. Babich at QB breaks off those two early TDs because everyone's focusing on Moews, but he couldn't sustain that.
