People down here are already mentioning Brian Hartline for the UK job. His brother Mike was a QB at UK and is currently a coach on the staff.

Good Lord I hope he goes to Kentucky so people here will quit talking about him. Oh, wait like they haven't quit talking about Frankiepoo.

It just brings up a couple of thoughts for me. First, I hope we’re not at the point of competing with UK for a football coach. Second, UK would be a good place for Hartline to start his head coaching career.

Will Stein ((Oregon OC - Kentucky native) and Brian Hartline are the two primary targets according to ESPN.
There’s also talk down here about getting Mullen. Mullen would be a good get for them. I also read an article about them trying to swoop in and grab Sumrall (former UK coach and player) before the ink dries on his Florida contract.

Agree with the second point especially. I am curious to see how he transitions from an ace recruiter within the OSU bubble to an organizational CEO tasked with rebuilding a program.

Right. He’d be in a good spot to take advantage of his Ohio recruiting connections and would be allowed time to learn how to run a program. What he will not have is the kind of NIL support he’s had at Ohio State.

Now Mullen makes sense

He was never a candidate here. That will be a very good hire for them.

Had a good chuckle when Fitz's name was brought up here a no. of times as he's basically a less slick/more "old school" version of Franklin (albeit even closer to Ferentz).

Good face/talking head of a program, but not the greatest when it comes to Xs & O's, schemes, game management, evaluating and developing QBs (not to mention O-lines), and most importantly, hiring the right coaches at the coordinator positions (particularly on O).

Very happy for Patty Fitz if that's true
Northwestern treated him unfairly

How so?

While the then NU President handled the situation poorly, it was by initially agreeing to the slap on the wrist proposed by Fitz's team when he knew there were allegations of hazing of a sexual nature.
