The same amount that it receives if it doesn't make the playoff. Revenue is distributed to the conferences, which then split it among members. Big Ten schools are estimated to receive $21mm each.

One of my kids works for the government where pay is pretty much dependent on seniority vs merit. That's not my experience in private industry but I guess it depends on the place.

I used to work for IBM. When I was asked, “How many people work at IBM?” I would respond with, “About half of them.”
