I never believed Louisville had a shot because Clemson or FSU will always take it from them but with that said, I sure as heck wouldn't mind being in the top 10

Not a good attempt at trash talk. I give the UL homers a rough time too but I'll take #7 any day of the week.

Yes, looks foolish to taunt them while they're a top 10 team. Having said that, the consensus seems to be (Finebaum, Forde, etc) they really took it on the chin coming in at 7. "Behind the 8 ball" said Forde. "Biggest single loser of the evening", says Finebaum. "Will need seismic activity at the top of rankings to make playoff now" says Crawford.

I never really thought they had much of a shot, given who was ahead of them in the rankings, who they have left to play, and how the season is "likely" to go for all those teams. But they're in worse shape than I thought....

UL fans should pray UK wins all of its remaining SEC games.

Doesn't matter...our fate is sealed. Kentucky should win the next three for themselves and Bowl placement. Louisville at this point is playing to lock down a NYD Six Bowl-(Orange Bowl) or if Clemson is upset in the ACC Title Game Cotton Bowl or in a absolute worse case-(if a B1G team in the Orange Bowl) the Citrus Bowl.

You cant continue to play crappy teams and playbin terrible conference and be rewarded for it...you look at all those teams in front of them and they quality wins...UL doesnt have that and barely beating Duke and Virginia destroyed them

I agree the OOC games need to be better and it seems UofL is trying to address that with the game against Bama in 2018 and Norte Dame games should help provided they get turned around. As far as conference the ACC is fine I mean you still have Clemson and FSU who Louisville plays every year. VT seems to be getting better, I think Miami and NC will be good team maybe not great but good. Pitt also seems to be improving some.

You dont play va tech or miami or notth carolina

No not every year but it helps on the years we do play them. Heck if UK is truly getting better then that is a plus when looking at strength of schedule since we do play U.K. Every year.

You misunderstood. I did not say UK should win for UL. LOL!! Hilarious passive aggressive response!

And, UL fans SHOULD hope UK wins their next three. Because no team on the list has their fate sealed at this point. That belies history and common sense.

Don't see Clemson losing ...just feel Watson will not allow it. We don't win the ACC we don't go-(Ohio State last year). "Praying" that UK Wins or lose it remaining SEC games really has no barring on us. It is on Louisville to win out or to end up being the highest ranked ACC School if/when Clemson is selected to the CFP...nothing more nothing less

I guess it couldn't hurt but I don't think it would move the needle enough if Houston hadn't crappped the bed then that would have helped provided they beat Houston.

It could be the last impression UL leaves the committee. It is highly doubtful, but if that were a game at home against an 8 win, possible SECE champ headed to Atlanta to play Bama, that could the tipping point depending how things play out for other teams. It is clear that SOS plays a big role. That game would be watched.

Again, UK is unlikely to be that team, but UL fans should be hoping. The rankings are week to week. If UK is a six win bowl team in that game, it has far less impact for UL.

UofL needs the top 3 to not lose, I think Washington drops a game to USC. Louisvill needs A&M to drop a game or two which is the biggest key to the whole deal. Even if A&M drops one game I think they still get in over Louisville.

You don't want Clemson to lose NOW, unless they lose twice. If Clemson is a one loss ACC champ, UL is highly unlikely to get a look.

This defies what we know and just witnessed from the committee. Watch teams jump TAMU and then tell me the same thing. The committee looks at THIS point. It does not predict what will happen.

I agree if UK is ranked and Louisville wins that game it could only help not hurt now the question would be will it help enough.

Louisville fan called into KSR yesterday and said that he is hoping we win out until we play them, because right now, we might be their best win of the season. He's not wrong if FSU continues to lose... you know, and they manage to beat us [banana]

There's potential that they don't have a win over any team that finishes in the top 25. A one loss team with no top 25 wins isn't making the playoff without some serious help.

Public I think the UVA close call had more bearing than I thought. I know they do penalize softer schedules as well and after Clemson game there wasn't much left for you guys. That combo must be the difference because I'm shocked they are out of the top 5.

The missed 25 yarder by NC St was a big blow as well.

Francois looks like he is getting better as the season progresses. He looked like a frosh in the first half against Ole Miss and against UL. Did not see the bulk of the UNC loss. Against Clemson, he had some really good moments when he had time. I am not sure FSU continues to lose.

Yeah, just took a look at their schedule, they go to NC State this week (who knows how that will go) and they end their season against Florida. I think UF beats them, which means they're still going to have four total losses. They're not a bad team, but UofL's win against them is still less and less impressive.

If UK won out and beat UL, would UK get a better bowl than UL? I would say yes.

Louisville needs loses, obviously. Good news for them is that (if you go by the linked 538 projections, but just about anybody else's as well ...) they have by far the best win-out chance of anyone in the Top 10.

And if they do win out, 538 takes their chances of making Top 4 to 38% (from 25% currently). Not likely, but fun to talk about for a few more weeks.

The problem with that Bama game in 2018 is if Jackson leaves after junior year, which he almost assuredly will do, then playing Bama with a new QB and getting CRUSHED really isn't going to help much. Nice to have a high SOS. Bad to lose to those good teams.

If you need a quality W it is common sense you would want to face KENTUCKY as the SEC EAST champion. Plus 8f KENTUCKY does win out they will be a top 20 team with an 8-3 record. You need us to be ranked to be able to think about getting in of chaos happens infront of you. Wat the bro's say? AIN'T NO MYSTERY!
