The playoffs should start with the sec playing each other the winner then moves on
I believe that is called the regular season. And it used to be the de facto playoff prior there being a playoff that lets a fifth play conference team play for a national title. Total joke.

Everyone complaining about JMU and Tulane not belonging conveniently forgetting that last year P5 teams were also non competitive in fist round games.

each conference should have smaller pods those teams play each other the winner goes on to play another pod winner until you have the best team out of those pods then you have those teams in the playoffs 6 teams. I’m sure there would still be complaints but for example if you win your pod with a 3-1 record and keep winning a one or two loss team is pretty respectable

I just feel like each conference should designate their best team to play in the playoff. One team per conference. How they designate that is up to them. I’m fine with each conference’s current model. Then no one can complain. It would have worked out perfectly this year. Indiana, Georgia, Texas tech and then I guess Duke. But that would make each conference title game pseudo playoff game.

The ACC really needs to update their tie breaker system so Miami could have been their rep. Conference record tie should be head to head and then next is highest ranked team.
