14-12 ND seems like Cary is moving the ball just not converting on crucial plays, I’m not too worried I expect these boys to come out hard in the 2nd half

ND with a huge goal line stand at the 1 near end of half. Great game. Cary moving the ball with relative ease

Good luck to CG next week. Your boys better put their big boy pants on because Crete Monee has been really impressive in the playoffs.

Great high school football game. Hard hitting smash mouth game right down to the wire. Good luck to Cary Grove next week. Dons fought tooth and nail and came up short. A wonderful career for a great group of seniors. The Dons have some talent in next years junior and senior classes. I can’t wait for next year. Go Dons!!

Could not agree more. The Dons are tough tough tough. Close games are the best ones.

Best part about the outcome of this game is nobody’s questioning coaching calls or sloppy plays and it was a good old fashioned brawl. I got a little emotional at half saying CG should man up or it’s over but in general it’s all positive comments. I’m shaking my head reading some of these other threads. At the end of the day it’s high school football fellas and these are still kids.

How Ty Gavin doesn't have serious D1 offers boggles my mind. He was probably at 75% today limping all over the field...but still breaking tackles and spinning past defenders on an elite team. Few times on 3rd and short when ND went wildcat with Gavin and every single person in the stadium knew he would be running with it--and he still would get the 1st. Classic example of schools overlooking someone because of their size...he will go somewhere smaller and shine.

Gavin finished with 146 yards tonight limping throughout.

Agreed. CG's offense is such a well-oiled machine--everyone in the ND stands was complimenting how well they ran that triple option. ND came up with some huge stops (the 4th down in the 1st half and then the goal line stand at the end of the half) but it just wasn't enough. It was a game of inches with numerous chain gang measurements (including a huge 4th down on CG's final drive). Just a great all around game. Best of luck to CG next week.

Agreed, he’s a stud, shifty and powerful. Look forward to seeing where he ends up

I agree. He is a game changer and fun to watch (would be more fun to watch if he were on our team!). Special player and wish him and all the Dons well. Game could have gone either way and all should be proud of how they represented their school and parents.
