CG D can’t slow down NC QB and absence of Daigle and Priester in CG secondary isn’t helping.

So how legit is this years Cary-Grove team? Seems like they were kind of a sleeper in the beginning of the year, more than likely were going to get CG vs PR part 2

Had to head out after half. Sorry, no more updates from me tonight. Hopefully Joe Stevenson will keep his Twitter going.

Awesome! I knew there would be a ton of points! NC defense is very suspect. WV has zero offense so we couldn’t exploit that weakness.

NC could not stop the option—and playing without all-state SS #11 did not help either. Nor did the penalties and uncharacteristic drops.

After balancing their running game all year with a good passing game, CG only threw the ball twice yesterday. Priester and Daigle, their two top receivers all year and star two-way players, did not play on defense at all and barely played on offense due to being banged up in the PR game last weekend. It is a moot point, but If they were healthy and playing on defense, I believe this game would have been less close as they definitely would have had an impact on defending NC’s passing game. That kid from NC is a stud though and he and Addison West, big #70 from CG, are going to W. Michigan together.

Still think NC is a tough out for anyone. Option football is a whole other animal, especially when you don’t see it all the time.

No doubt they are a tough out and will be in the playoffs. Great QB with a quick release and solid WR options will get them far.

Agree they will be a tough out due to their ability to but up alot of points thru the air,..But I don’t think they make it past 2nd round (maybe first round depending on matchup) due to defense.

Their defense has been very suspect all year and it’s been kinda hidden in the weeds as the offense has taken a lot pressure off them. WV put up 14 points on NC D to make it 21-14 when the game was still in play and also left some points on the field during the game. WV did the exact same at Metea and left some points on the field inside the redzone with the 14-0 win over Metea. Granted WVs Offense is shockingly predictable and just plain not good right now - but I have to say NC’s D is not a ton better than what I saw at Metea last nite. Metea’s Offense is even worse than Waubonsie’s.
