Dudley handled chambers first half. 3-0 but really 10-0. Quarterback ran in wide open for the score but the play ruled dead because it was the QB.

Dudley looks like the better team. Chambers really hasn’t done anything besides the one busted play. Dudley drove the ball both possessions so far without much trouble.

Chambers is funny. When it was 3-0 (really 10-0) they were quiet. They got the busted play for a touchdown and then cut the score board on. Subs getting put in now though.

Dudley has subs in now and chambers still with first team offense trying to look good. Now they are actually driving the ball.

Maybe. It’s a scrimmage. Dudley ain’t no slouch by any means though. Wasn’t that long ago when I though their 2016 team could have won 4AA if they were in the sub-division. And their offense last year was amazing imo on their 3A championship run. I look forward to watching them play this year as well as Chambers.

Yeah I know it’s a scrimmage but just from what I seen Dudley looks better. It’s still early though and a scrimmage is to make all teams involved better. I look forward to both teams trying to make it back to the big game.

Bingo. It is a scrimmage. Smart coaches don't care about the score in these things. They use them to learn what they have. They want to see who can play, who can't and get an idea of what they have. They are looking for chemistry and leadership. Can, will their kids compete? Can they execute? You are not going to see trick plays. It is typically base plays and defenses. They are looking for things to correct, not win a score in these things. No banners or trophies for scrimmage performances.

Misinformation, Chambers won 7-3. There were 3 games played and none of the QBs ran. If they passed the LOS, refs whistled the play dead. Dudley did not get any special privileges. Dudley’s QB ran in on this “supposed TD”. Defenses did rush the QB but refs stopped the play before contact could be made with QB. So no, Dudley did not win 10-7. I had no dog in the fight but let’s not spread misinformation. Very good game and both teams will be playing in late November.

No misinformation was put out. Everything I said throughout the thread happened.

They were definitely trying to win and cared about the score. If they didn’t then they wouldn’t have cut the score board on when they finally got points on the board. Announcer didn’t even start talking until then either. They came out to music and with cheerleaders like it was a real game. They also tried scoring on the second group at the end to feel like they did something and still got stopped.

Sorry, someone might have cared about what is flashing on the scoreboard, but coaches focus on execution and learning during a scrimmage, they play more kids, they script things for learning and sometimes they even collaborate to check a few things out. I will give you an example. I was involved in a scrimmage where we moved the ball but because of the 10 play limitation and because we were a grind it out team we did not break any big plays we did not score. The opposition scored six times all on long plays. 36-0 is what a numnuts would say. When we looked at the film the next day we learned that we tried to play kids on defense that we wanted to step up but did not. Three of the long runs they did not even bock the kid at the point of attack and he did not make an easy play. On offense we did not have any negative plays and during a game we would have grinned out First down after First down. We went out the next week making the right adjustments and shut out the team that later beat the team conclusively by three TDs that supposivily beat us 36-0. We did not get to play the team later in the year in a game because they did not make the playoffs. SMH

I thought both teams looked really good, especially on offense. Besides the fumble by Camp early on, both teams executed well on offense. Dudley’s receivers made some big time catches, as did Chambers’. I think Dudley’s offense is a little ahead of Chambers, but Chambers’ defense is ahead of Dudley’s. I have both teams winning the state championship in their respective classification this year.

I agree!!! That scrimmage prepared both teams for anyone they will see down the road and both should be in the big game.

I stand by my statement. "Smart, focused coaches" don't care. Announcers do. Fans do. Cheerleaders do. The band does. Ignorant newspaper reporters do. Some electronic warriors (AKA knuckleheads) that post on NCPreps do. No trophies, awards, or banners for scrimmage results. It is a learning tool for those that know what they are doing.
