Big key game here as 4-1 Chambers will take on 3-1 Hough. I’m interested with the thoughts in this game.

I could see the kicking game for Hough being a factor if this is kinda tight low scoring game. Kid has a unbelievable leg. Booker has really come on for Chambers. Tough match-ups there on the outside. Lot of speed.

Hough 21 Chambers 26

Hough has a great o line but if chamber can get pressure Hudson isn't great under pressure imo ; if Hough wins its bc they control the line of scrimmage but I think chamebrs will have success with pressure

Probably see these 2 again in the playoffs. I’m curious to see how this game turns out.

He was a early offer from the Heels. I don't believe he turned into the QB they projected him to be.

I think he is the third best QB in Charlotte Jaden Davis Providence Day and Zach Lawrence Butler are better in my opinion.

I think Chambers win a 27-17.

Just looked at maxpreps on this game, Hough ranked higher nationally but Chambers
ranked higher in the state of NC, Now that really adds up...........
I don’t pay MaxPreps any mind, their ranking system is terrible.

Not even close. He is terrible from what I've seen. Guess going to Hough gives ya a leg up.... He won't touch the field at UNC
Maye and Harrell I think have the next 3-4 years taken care of and I do believe UNC in good position for QB in ‘24 out of Texas

It off the subject, hadn’t seen blueandgold22 lately is he ok.
All good brother. Been busy with work and some other things. Moved way down to the south edge of Charlotte. Been off my usual routine of games. Have seen Creek a couple times this year. If I land in time Friday gonna try and make Hough- Chambers this week. Thanks for asking.

For state of North Carolina, this is big boy football. These teams could easily meet again in the playoffs. This is basically for the conference, home field advantage in the playoffs and the right to sell hot dogs after the regular season.

Think the reason is for the state rankings they do not include winning margin while on the national rankings they do. That is only a guess but I know when the NCHSAA started using MaxPreps they had them remove that number from the equation. Therefore a 63-14 was the same as 22-21 over the same team. I thought they should have allowed the points differential up to at least 21 points. Most teams are not going to risk much late to get over 21 as a bad bounce of the ball completely changes things.

I am a fan of Simmons ratings and becoming a bigger fan of Cal Prep power ratings. It seems that Cal Preps takes in a wider range of data points when compiling their rankings. Cal Preps has Chambers higher than Hough state and nationally.

Speaking of Dutch Fork. They have St Frances Academy this week. My understanding is DF QB has been out with injury and some other players as well. This game may not set well for DF.

We will see. I think both teams would be favored over Mallard Creek right now but not by a ton. I think the Creek defense would keep them in any game.

@nEPSY Whats up with James Martin Middle school football? If they are feeding Chambers next few years Chambers is in a world of hurt. Never saw a james martin team that bad as I saw yesterday vs, JMA> small and unathletic.

St. Francis is a real deal killing machine. This game may get ugly fast.
I don't believe in football mathmatics but it can give some insight but we all know matchups make games and a small hiccup can spin a high schoolers performance 180 degrees.

First game is probably always a cluster for SFA but they only beat East St Louis by seven, a team that can most likely match them with athletes. SFA lost to Creekside (GA) by two the week after DF beat Creekside by six.

Closest transitive path is that DF beat Creekside which also won a close game over East St Louis. I think the problem for DF will be that they're pretty banged up. Hard enough to win that game at 100%. But you're right, it is TK, so who knows.

Nevermind. What @btango said. Beat me to it.

One of the strengths of his Indy teams was not a lot of injuries to big time players until 2007 and much more in 2008. Had a few but usually not a flood of them and rarely to big time players or at QB.

I agree the first game for SFA is usually a throw away game to gauging them because from my understanding their full roster doesn’t get settled until just a week or two before their classes start. It usually takes them a couple of weeks into the season to really get going. SFA do not have the financial resources that most of the other big privates in the DMV have on hand so they start out a little slower in some areas. Btango you touched on my thoughts about matchups. I think that Coach Knotts can coach with anyone but the Jimmy and Joes of St Francis will be pretty hard for this particular DF team to matchup with across the board. DF will need to score, play field position, and milk the clock. DF does have 5 games under their belt so Coach Knotts has probably established what they are as a team. SFA is a chip on their shoulder type of team so is important not to give those kids bulletin board info. I am just thinking that this game will be a game of attrition that favors SFA because of their depth of talent across the board.

It's been awhile but I don't think East St Louis is what they once were.

Chambers JV team is basically all sophomores and have been as dominant as the varsity team. They’ll be fine next year.

It was a hard act to follow after going undefeated for 9 years in a row. It's evident they're not getting the same kids. Back than, the kids were not interested in attending Vance/Chambers. When Aaron Brand showed up, it was the beginning of what's going on now.
