The whole thing is so symbolic. Kirk went to college campuses and spoke to anyone. One of his often used lines was something like, we've got to keep talking to each because if we don't then we start to dehumanize each other and civil war ensues.
Jimmy Kimmel OTOH has a TV show where the only people he speaks to is a vetted list. Rarely is anyone with a view different from Kimmel's even allowed on the show.
Charlie Kirk has probably spoken publicly with more people that disagree with him about politics in the last six months than Jimmy Kimmel has in his entire life.
Kimmel is entirely top down. He's the head of this big TV show run by a giant international corporation and I'll decide who can and cannot speak to me. And although he is the head of the TV show, he is at the mercy of Disney in the end.
Kirk OTOH is bottom up. He CREATED the organization that he has (had). Whereas Kimmel would only talk to a vetted list of celebrities, Kirk would go to a college and let anyone walk up to the mic and speak to him.
