Kathy Griffin broke down in tears speaking about the constant attacks from the public and members of the Trump family over the past few days
Later in the interview Griffin said that her career was likely over now as a result of this incident, and that President Trump had 'broke' her, moments after she declared: 'There's a bunch of old white guys trying to silence me!' Griffin, 56, declared at one point that this would not be happening to her if she was a 'white man.'

As Sammy Davis Jr sang in the Baretta theme song long ago, "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." She says her career may be over now. Maybe so but the thing is, the continuation of her career was predicated on her not doing something like this.

ETA: Some people have careers doing outlandish things like she did. For example, the photographer that took the pics of her is notorious for stuff like this. Being way over the top is his career. On one hand that prevents him from being a big name but OTOH when this kind of stuff is your career then you're not hurt by crazy stuff. Kathy Griffin has the option of going to a career like that if she chooses, although there is no guarantee she will succeed at it.

She was succeeding at the career she had (even though she wasn't a big star she was probably making more money than any of us) but the thing is, the kind of comic she was does not do what she did. Or if they do then they have to be prepared to possibly lose their career.

Also, people are focusing too much on Trump. Doing this to a POTUS is one thing but beyond that, there are people that really do this (cut off heads and hold them up for the camera). Doing what she did trivializes that. I can't imagine being Nick Berg's parents or the parents of the others this was done to and having to see this in the news.

It definitely would not have happened to her if she wasn't so brazen as to think holding up the likeness of our Presidents head dripping in blood would go over well. That's on her and her alone, not a bunch of old white guys. Cry me a river Kathy, you did it to yourself.
